I am in possession of about 50 or more beautiful black and white 8x10 portraits taken by the photography club on the high school stage. My father, j. Leslie Campbell, now 91, was the teacher advisor of this club, and this file was found in his FLHS archival files just recently. I would consider it a privilege to get these photos in the rightful hands of their owners or their owners' families. I'm guessing at the year, although some photos are identified: Joan Roth, head cheerleader 1957-58. Mildred Perkins. Art Wolf and Phyllis Allen, Dec. 1957. Claudia Jensen, Nov. 1957. Marie Rome?Rouse?Rowe? Sondra Frost, Nov. 1957. Claire Procapii, April 1957. Jenny Siflinger, June 1960. Bev Cass, June 1955, Miss NJ 1956. Gail Pius. Terry McDermot, Miss Fair Lawn 1956. Marlene Palmer, June 1957. Carol Hauser, June 1957. Barbara Barons. Marilyn Hertzburg. Gwen Burdy, Feb. 1957. Carol Samadi. Neil Garralandt. R. Kryaff. Di Inmio. And others that are unmarked. Please ask if anyone can help track these names. I can be contacted by email at bethacomer@gmail.com (posted 4/30/2014)

After graduating college, the entire world became my stomping grounds, and last year, after living in Europe for most of the past 7 years, I'm finally able to enjoy my family and home in Ramsey on more than a part time basis. Looking at previous messages, I only saw one former classmate's name.

I married Anita Korver, class of '58 in 1960. We have 3 daughters, Teri-Lynn, Dawn Ann and Kris Eilene and 4 grandchildren. We've now been married for 46 years and "the minister thought it wouldn't last!"

I taught industrial arts/education for 37 1/2 years on the elementary, middle school, high school and college levels. I also authored a set of text books on Transportation Technology. I retired in 2000 to devote more time to our antique business of 28 years and to travel. You can see our website www.antiqueconnection.com where we list our show schedule and tell a little bit about ourselves. We always enjoy seeing old friends from FLHS at shows and hearing about their lives.

After graduation, my twin brother, Bill, and I attended Seton Hall University and embarked on government careers. I was a social security claims rep, field rep and supervisor before moving to the Rehabilitation Services Administration in 1968. I married Beverly Martin of Saddle Brook February 3rd, 1968 and we have three children: Richard, Dawn and Craig. In 1986, I arranged an early retirement from the position of Regional Commissioner at the U.S. Department of Education, Rehabilitation Services Administration and became a district rep for Aid Association For Lutherans (AAL), the nation's largest financial services related fraternal benefit society (bigger than the Knights Of Columbus!) where I helped Lutherans and their families achieve their financial goals. I retired May 31st, 2002 just before AAL merged with Lutheran Brotherhood (LB) and became Thrivent Financial For Lutherans. I keep active with church work at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fair Lawn where I serve on the Church Council and lead adult Bible Classes. For over 35 years, I've been writing THE GRIDIRON and THIS WEEK IN FLHS HISTORY about the CUTTERS of Fair Lawn High for what is now The Fair Lawn Community News. The paper just runs THE GRIDIRON now but both columns can be read at the Fair Lawn High site in http://maxpreps.com/ as well as my brother's http://mustanggridiron.blogspot.com/ site, which also has our pictures. For many years Bill and I "spotted" for Fair Lawn announcer Joe Hausmann and since 1997 I've been the "Voice Of The CUTTERS" announcing the football games at SASSO FIELD and the band at the away games. I love that and I look forward to doing it for years to come. On August 14th, 2006 I was thrilled to be able to present for induction into the new Fair Lawn High School Hall Of Fame Bob Wright, star of the 1959 CUTTERS who nearly took the Northern New Jersey Interscholastic League (NNJIL) title under coach Frank Bennett in their maiden season in the big league, and Bruce Jankowski, star of the 1965 and 66 CUTTERS who won 2 NNJIL titles and notched the last 17 games of that great 24 game non-losing streak 1964-66, which was ended by Ridgewood's shocking 40-34 upset in 1966. Richard lives at home with us and Craig and his wife, Colleen, live in Nutley. On February 21st, 2006 Dawn and her husband, Nick Altieri, who live in Ringwood, inducted Bev and me into the "Grandparents Club" with the birth of our first grandchild, Courtney Sophia Altieri. Life is good!

Married to Ellen McFadden. I have one grown son and two grandsons. Luke Aidan Engelhardt was born on May 22, 2002 and Jack Dominick Engelhardt was born on November 22, 2006. I'm retired from the Federal Government after 34 years of service. I worked for the Social Security Administration (SSA), the Social and Rehabilitation Services Administration (SRS) and the Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) in the New York Region. Ironically, I now live 35 miles from the national headquarters of HCFA, which was just renamed the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and am the President of the HCFA Alumni Association (because I was the last person to say NO, ha). My twin brother Richard is the "Voice of the Cutters" of Fair Lawn High and I miss attending the football games since I moved away nearly 6 years ago. But I now attend the games of the MUSTANGS of South Western High in south western York County, Pennsylvania and write a column about them called MUSTANG GRIDIRON for the Pennsylvania Football News, a web site devoted to high school football throughout the Commonwealth of PA (http://www.pafootballnews.com). You can also check out those columns and my twin brother Dick's columns about the CUTTERS of Fair Lawn High at my blog (http://mustanggridiron.blogspot.com/).

USN weatherman vet. Retired from IBM Corp. in May 94. International assignments in Bermuda, Bahamas, Trinidad, and Paris. First novel, "Mordray's Whale" published in July 2006 (available on Barnes & Noble.com). Haved in close touch with Bob Heaney, Jim McFadyen, Bob Rubini, Grayce Rosso, Judy Schneider, Bob Picolla, etc. Isn't great after all these years to have continued high school relationships. Last comment: remember Kind's Dairy. I think the "monster" cones cost us 25c or so.

Still Cruisin' - Still in FL - Been making plastic bottles for the last 36 years. "The future is Plastic my boy" Turn one over and if it has a TPI in a box I made it. Put 2 sons though FL Jimmy class of 97 & Harold 99, too bad Mr. Rothermel didn't hang around for that, he'd have pulled the rest of his hair out. They both went out for sports, both lettered. Jimmy in Football & Track, set the school record for 800m, broke the old one set in 1986. Harold in Football, starting center all 4 yrs. & Lacrosse. How about that Mr. Bennett, your favorite "SUEDE" of '58 fathered two "Jocks". I would have gotten this done sooner, but I took typing under Mr. (Button-Button) Giammetta, and my finger gets tired hunting & pecking, now they call it Key-Boarding and it's COOL for boys to take, besides they don't have games in a Typewriter. Hey B-Bomb you got another one!

"WHO REMEMBERS WHEN?"
Sneakers were Gym shoes, there was no COED gym, you where a bad boy if you had ''long'' hair remember D.A.s & T.C.s, Flat-Tops were not too bad if the sides were short. Boys couldn't wear dungarees; Tee shirts, Pegged pants and 3ds where tolerated. Girls, skirts, sweaters and blouses only. Once a year we had "Old Clothes Day" Now it's Dress Up day once a year. How about the Pep-rally where Reggie Ridgewood was burned. Now because it ain't environmental or P.C. it's held in the Gym, AND you better BEHAVE or Mrs. P will get you! You couldn't smoke ANY where on school grounds AT ALL. If you want to smoke become a teacher. If you smoked keep an eye out for Misters Bennet, Sasso Dirty Dan etal. Ball games Football, Baseball and Basket were pick-up and we didn't need an adult to supervise us. If you didn't want to play this week, or you wanted to play football in the spring that was okay. Malls didn't exist so we hung out at--The Four Deuses, T&R's, The Lollypop, Texas Wieners, The Sugar Bowl or went down the Woods. Later when we had cars, 4 doors were "Daddy's Car". We souped them up with parts from The House of Chrome and Mike's Used Parts in Ridgewood. Remember Cruising Main Street with Allan Freed & JOCKO, no CDs or tapes then. Remember Hanging Out at Toby's and Stewarts. How about Swiss Trudy's, Puruina's, Zip's, Andres's, Mountain Lakes, The Irish House. I never went that was my J.D. twin. Now you want a hot one--Remember when the President was OLDER than US??
