Kayt opened her eyes. She wasn't in heaven, nor hell. She didn't know what was going on. There were many colors surrounding her and she felt herself rematerializing again. Her wings were disintegrating slowly. The beautiful white feathers were losing their smoothness and softness and were becoming worn and dissapearing. She became dizzy and closed her eyes. Her wings were all gone and she was falling. She hut a body of water but didn't sink. Instead she just floated on top of the water. She opened her eyes and she fell under. She floated back to the top and managed to swim to the side of the lake she was in. She got out and looked around. She had no idea where she was.
It was around 6:30 and the sun had been starting to go down. The day was very warm and it was about mid-summer. The houses that she looked at were obviosly full of muggles and she knew she was in Britain. She looked around at the perfectly cut lawns and all the perfect families.
Although she had fallen into the water, her clothes and hair were perfectly dry.
"Hermione! It's time to come in!" yelled a woman out the kitchen window in the house across the street.
"I'm coming!" Hermione screamed as she ran in the front door.
Kayt ran across the street and sat down on their step. She waited a while. She wondered if anyone could see her. Was she alive or dead? There was only one way to find out.
She stood up and hit the white as snow doorbell. She tapped her foot waiting for someone to come to the door. She watched the just shined doorknob turn and saw a man at the door.
"Hello, there." said the man in a happy voice.
"Hello, is Hermione home?" Kayt asked quietly.
"Just a minute. Hermione!" The man yelled and gestured her to come in.
Kayt walked in. She stood near the door and waited. "Thank you."
Hermione ran down the stairs and looked at her father and then to Kayt.
The man walked away as Hermione made it to the bottom of the stairs.
"Kayt?" Hermione whispered as her eyes opened wider then usual.
Kayt nodded.
"Come upstairs." she said. "Mom, Dad I'll be right back!" Hermione ran up to her room. "I thought you died!"
Hermione's room was very neat and looked very homey. Her bed was twin size and had light blue sheets on them and she had a dresse that had a mirror on it. The mirror was surrounded by pictures of Ron, Harry, and Kayt. There were many pictures of other famous muggle guys who were (in Kayt's opinion) hot.
"Yeah, well I did. But i was reincarnated. I have no idea by who though." Kayt said quickly hoping that Hermione understood her.
There was silence and Hermione jumped forward and hugged Kayt. "I'm so sorry for being so mean to you before you died!"
"It's ok. I'm glad I'm back and that I found you." Kayt hugged her back.
"We should send owls to Ron and Harry." Hermione said.
"Yeah, do you have any paper?" Kayt asked.
"Oh yeah. Here." She handed Kayt a peice of paper and a pen. "I'll got get Nortejia."
"Nortejia?" Kayt asked.
"My parents owl." Hermione said turning back to her and then running down the hall.
Kayt started to wirte
Harry,
It's me Kayt. I was reincarnated but i don't know by who. I'm at Hermione's house now and We're going to send Ron a letter next. Please have Hedwig send a response if possible.
-Kayt
Hermione walked in shortly after Kayt had finished written the letter.
The owl was totally black but had one white spot on the back of it's neck. It's beak was even black. It's eyes were a bright amber. It was a very good natured bird, though. She was very kind and was warm to Kayt eventhough it didn't know her.
"I wrote a letter to Harry first." Kayt smiled.
"Hey, Kayt. You look different. Your hair color. It's brown. And your eyes. One is brown and the other is green." Kayt showed Hermione a look of disbeliefe so Hermione opened her closet door which had a full length mirror on the inside. "Look."
Kayt walked up to the mirror as Hermione tyed the letter to Nortejia and let her go.
Kayt saw that her hair was a lot lighter and her eyes were different.
Her hair was more of a sandy brown now and her right eye was a honey brown. Her left eye was a mix of light brown and peircing green. There was stil her crimson red lips there though.
"I guess you change after you've been reincarnated." Hermione said.
They waited in Hermione's room for about 15 minutes, just talking, when Nortejia came and landed on Hermione's bed.
Kayt ripped the letter off of the owls leg. It said:
"Please stop trying to make me feel better, Hermione. I'm alright...really."
"I'll call him." Hermione said, going over to her phone. She dialed the number. She put it on speaker phone so Kayt could hear him. "Hello, is Harry there? It's Hermione."
"Harry can't come to the phone right now." said Aunt Petunia.
"Please I need to talk to him. It's urgent."
"Fine. I'll go look for him. Harry!!!! Pick up the phone!!!"
"Hello?" Harry said in a an odd voice. Aunt Petunia hung up with a huff.
"Harry, it's Hermione. I'm not joking. That was Kayt. She's standing right behind me." Hermione said seriously.
"But she-"
"She was reincarnated."
"Prove it."
"I'll take a picture and have Nortejia send it over immediatly. Kayt come on."
"Harry, it's not a lie." said Kayt in the backround.
Hermione took a picture with her immediate developer magic camera. She attached it to the owl and let it go.
There was a silence when Hermione and Kayt heard the tapping of Nortejia on Harry's window.
Harry walked over to it and dropped the phone. He had obviously seen the picture.
"But that doesn't even look like Kayt. Her hair is different and her eyes are different." Harry said, picking the phone back up.
"When you are reincarnated, somethings are different. Luckily, it wasn't her memory." Hermione said.
"Let me talk to her." Harry said.
"Go ahead. You are on speakerphone."
"Kayt! I'm so glad you're back! Do either of you know who brought you back?"
"I wish we did. Hermione's looking it up in her book now." Kayt said, watching Hermione flipping through a book.
"That's Hermione for you." Harry said with a short sniffle after it.
"Harry are you crying?" Hermione asked, looking up from her book.
"No," he sniffed again, "I'm not crying. It's my allergies. I swear."
"Whatever you say, Harry." Hermione said going back to her book.
"At first I thought it was you who had brought me back but when you didn't believe Hermione that I was back, then I knew it wasn't you." Kayt said quickly.
"Ah ha! Found something!" Hermione screamed. "It says here that only powerful wizards can bring someone back. Either that or a fully trained necromancer."
"A Necro- what?"
"A person who can enter and leave death and bring things back to lif that have died." Hermione and Kayt both said at the same time.
"It also says here that it's known to be the magic of a dark wizard or witch." Hermione added.
"Oh great. Here we go again. I'm going to be taken over by Voldemort." Hermione winced and Kayt said this louder then needed.
"But, in some cases a good witch or wizard may use it under certain circumstances. Then there are some cases where a person or thing is brought back without effort. It could just be a wish or the soul was told that it was not ready to pass and was just send back." Hermione said louder.
"Do us a favor. Send Ron an owl." Kayt said.
"Get off the phone, boy!" yelled Uncle Vernon.
"I have to go. I'll talk to Ron. Bye, Hermione. Love you, Kayt." Harry said quickly and hung up.
Kayt smiled and started talking to Hermione "I miss him so-" Kayt fell to the ground and looked at her ankle. The scar was still there and burning more then ever.
Harry woke up and rubbed his scar. He put his glasses on when he saw an owl sitting by his feet and letter attached to its foot.
He ripped it off the black owl with amber eyes and one white mark on the back of its neck.
The letter said:
"Kayt's back."
-Hermione
Harry felt dizzy for a moment and fainted.
