The hat was silent for a moment and everyone in the hall bent forward at the same time.
Kayt moved back as all of the eyes stared at her.
The feeling of stairing made her nervous so she looked up at the hat and begged for it to decide in her head.
She was bighting her lip since she was so nervous. The eyes from the students in the hall just kept staring. Kayt thought it was all over when the hat screamed out "HUFFLEPU- RAVEN- Slytheri- GRYFFINDOR!"
As the houses were all bein anounced at once they all become very excited. But when Gryffindor was finally announced as the final decision, Harry cheered and as she walked over to him in relief he hugged her as tight as he could.
"That was the weirdest thing that hat has ever done. It never called out all four house before like that." hissed Fred.
Malfoy looked at Kayt and then the hat. He was suspicious about what happened but he didn't say anything.
Malfoy watched Kayt throughout the whole ceremony and as she was gettin up to go to the common room, he walked over to her.
"Hey you guys, I forgot my bag. I'll meet you up there." Kayt said as she started to walk back to the Great Hall.
"I'll stay with you so you don't get lost on your way back to the common room." said Hermione, waiting in the hallway for her.
As Kayt picked up her purse and turned around, she had noticed she was face to face with Malfoy.
Kayt jumped but then relaxed when she realized who it was.
"Hello." said Malfoy.
"Hello. You're Draco, correct?" asked Kayt.
"Yes. I came to welcome you to this Hogwarts. Is anyone else your family a witch or wizard?" asked Malfoy, being as cool as possible.
"I don't believe so. I'm not entirely sure. I never asked. Why does it matter?" asked Kayt.
Malfoy shuttered but smiled at her "Not at all. You just seem like someone i know from somewhere else."
Hermione looked in to see Kayt talking to Malfoy and she walked in quickly and muttered "We have to go."
Hermione took her arm and Malfoy waved goodbye to Kayt.
"What is wrong with u?" hissed Kayt when they were runnin up the stairs.
"Didn't we tell u not to talk to him? He's only up to no good. He's in Slytherin." Hermione said slowly.
"But he didn't seem bad at all." said Kayt slowling down.
"You don't know him yet. Slytherin and Gryffindor r rival houses and Malfoy and Harry rn't exactly friends. Kayt, Harry's a great guy and once u get to know Malfoy u'll see he isn't. If Harry sees u talkin to Malfoy like that again, he's goin to become suspicious. I know u love harry and that he loves u and if u ever got anywhere with Malfoy u'd see that, well, u didn't. He's known to break lots of girls hearts. Don't talk to him." said Hermione stopping her on the steps.
Kayt nodded and they just walked up to the Gryffindor Common room.
When they entered, Harry and Ron were waiting.
"I won't say anything about it to them." Hermione whispered in Kayt's ear before Ron and Harry walked up to them.
Kayt smiled and nodded and started to talk Harry and Ron as Hermione went up to her room.
"Where's she going?" asked Ron.
"She's probably going to unpack. Why don't you go find out, Ron?" said Harry, teasing him.
"Fine, I will." said Ron running up after her.
"I didn't expect him to actually go." said Kayt laughing.
The time passed and Ron came back down with Hermione. They talked about Harry becoming the new quidditch captain and how they're goin to need a new keeper. Many people in the common room came over to Harry and congratulated him.
After about an hour, students were gettin ready to go up to their rooms and get ready for bed. Harry, Kayt, Ron, and Hermione just waited a while, said good night, and left for bed.
They parted at the stair case and Hermione and Kayt put their suitcases under their beds and got changed into their pajama's. They layed down and sat there for a while. They said goodnight to each other and layed down. Hermione fell asleep quickly but Kayt just layed there awake.
Harry and Ron had also gotten into bed and they both fell asleep.
The dead of the night was odd to Kayt. She had never been in a quiet home with her younger siblings. Something was also different that night. She didn't exactly know what but it was bothering her so much that she couldn't sleep. She tossed and turned and she just got up. She looked at her ankle and rubbed it lightly. She walked over to the door and locked it. She turned around to go back to bed when she heard the door come unlocked. Someone was coming. It wasn't a teacher because everyone was asleep.... right?
She heard the doorknob turning slowly. She didn't know who or what it was and she wasn't sure what to do.
She turned around quickly and the next thing everyone heard was a a high pitched scream.
All the girls sat up quickly and the boys and the teachers ran to the girls dorms.
Professor McGonagall ran in with Professr Dumbledore and neeled down to a dark figure lieing on the floor.
"Miss Granger, go fetch Madam Pomfrey." Professor McGonagall said quickly.
"Someone please turn a light on." said Professor Dumbledore as Hermione ran out the room and down the hall.
Ron followed after her and Harry pushed through the crowd of students and saw it was Kayt lieing on the ground unconcious.
"Everyone please go downstairs into the common room!" yelled Professor McGonagall over the crowd of students.
Harry refused to go downstairs with the rest of them. He stood by the door looking at Kayt and around the room.
Madam Pomfrey hurried in. Hermione stopped a the door and pulled on Harry's arm to get him out of the room. Harry just moved farther away from Hermione and closer to Kayt.
"Harry, come on." Hermione said walking over to him.
Harry looked at her and then back at Kayt and whispered, "But..."
His voice faded out when McGongagall told him to go downstairs.
Harry walked down slowly with Hermione.
"Where's Ron?" asked Harry looking around the common room for the firey red hair.
"I don't know. I thought he was with u." said Hermione.
"I'm actually right here!" said a voice behind them.
"Oh, Hi, Ron." said Harry turning around.
"I feel hated now.... i was forgotten about..." ron sulked and then laughed after it.
The students were in the common room for about an hour. Everybody looked at the steps as they heard McGongall walk down them.
Harry ran over to her and asked "What happened? Is she ok?"
"She doesn't really remember what happened and-" said McGonagal whispered.
"She's awake?!" asked Harry more surprisingly.
"Yes, but Mr. Potter, please dont go up there." McGongall said as he ran up to go see Kayt.
Harry ran up to the rooms and over to Kayt. She had her head in her hands.
"Are you ok?" Harry asked.
"Yeah." Kayt said looking up at him. "I'm fine."
"What happened?" asked Harry lookn at the broken door.
There was a long silence and everyone watched Kayt. "I'm not sure."
Everyone was silent for a moment longer and then went back to what they were doing. Harry put his arms around Kayt, swayed her back and forth.
Professor McGonagall walked in and motioned Professor Dumbledore over to her. He walked over to her quickly.
"Albus, what are we going to do?" asked Professor McGonagal.
"I don't know, Minerva." said Dumbledore in a low voice.
"It was obviously an intruder. No student here would know how to do that." said McGonagal.
"I know. The students shouldn't sleep here tonight."
"Yes it is unsafe but where else would they sleep?"
"The Great Hall."
"It's an idea but, Albus, r they really safe there too? I'm still scared about what happened last year."
"I know. Everyone is. Even the students that knows about it are scared."
"What are we going to do, Albus?"
"Well right now, I think the Great Hall is our best bet. I'll make an anouncement and have all of the students there. We'll just have to do what we did last time."
"I'll have the prefects to lead the common room down now."
McGonagal walked down the steps and Dumbledore turned to look in the room. He saw Kayt and Harry still sitting there, holding each other.
