Harry Potter and the Mirror of Erised

Chapter 1

Harry got ready for bed. This had to be the best summer of his life. Dudley had no good reason to get him in trouble since he was in his room most of the time and this summer he wasn't going to be punished for breaking away at the begginning of the school year.
Harry was also very happy since he only had 2 more weeks until he went back to Hogwarts. Harry was just sitting on his bed, finishing up reading some books he had to read for the new school year. He was on the last page, when he heard a knock on the door.
Harry threw the book under his bed and said, "Who is it?"
"Let me in, boy." said an all too familiar voice. Harry recognized the voice as his uncle's and he unlocked the door.
His unle walked in and Harry sat on his bed again. "Petunia, darling, come in here." said his uncle in a calm voice.
His aunt walked in and stood next to his uncle. "As you may have noticed, we are getting new neighbors. They moved in today and we have invited them over for dinner tomorrow. IF, and that's a very big IF, you eat with us you will be dressed up in a suit. Your behavior depends on whether or not you will be eating with us." said Uncle Vernon in a stern voice.
"What makes you think I'd like to eat with you tomorrow night?" asked Harry in a curious voice.
"We thought you would want to eat tomorrow night. We also were warning you that there will be no such thing as magical brooms, books, paper, quills, or anything in this house. And that bird will not be here. It will be gone." said Aunt Petunia going from a concerned voice to a very nasty tone.
"We can't let Hedwig out now? She'll come back when i'm already gone!" said Harry standing up.
"That owl will not be in my house while we have new neighbors over. You drove away the last one's and we want to keep these neighbors. They have a girl Dudley's age and Dudley seems to be fond of her. We want what's best for Dudley and that owl being gone will be best for him!" screamed his uncle.
"You can't make me let Hedwig go." said Harry walking over to her cage.
"Boy, I can do anything I want. Will you, or will you not be eating with us tomorrow?" asked his uncle looking very frustrated.
"I'll only eat if you let Hedwig stay!" said Harry who also looked frustrated.
"That bird is not staying here!" said Uncle Vernon.
"Then I'm not eating!" screamed Harry.
"We don't care!" screamed his uncle.
"Then why did you invite me to dinner?!" Harry screamed back, his face starting to turn red.
His aunt and uncle stormed out of the room and Harry locked the door behind them. Harry opened his curtain and looked over next door. He saw their backyard and a girl walk around it. He watched her but couldn't really see her face. She walked iside the house and Harry looked at Hedwig.
"Hedwig, you wouldn't mind if I sent u to Ron's for a while would u?" asked Harry hoping the girl would come back out.
Hedwig made her normal squawking noise and Harry smiled. He took out a quill and parchment a wrote a letter to Ron. It said:

Ron,
Would you do me a favor and watch Hedwig for a while. We have some new neighbors and of course my aunt and uncle have to show off. If you can't watch her then send her back immediatly.
Thanks,
Harry

Harry attached the letter to Hedwig's foot, and sent her off. He watched Hedwig go out of site and then slowly walked down the stairs. He walked into the living room and stood in front of his uncle.
"What is it?" asked his uncle, not looking up from his paper.
"I - I came down to appologize. I let Hedwig go for a while. I sent her to my friends house. You won't see her until next summer." said Harry, lowering his head.
"Good. So, are you going to be eating with us?" he asked once again excet this time slightly more calm.
"Yes. I will be attending dinner. I will not say a word to our guest unless they speak to me and magic does not exist. I am just another 15 - year - old boy that lives in England." Harry said with a slight smile on his face.
"Alright then, boy. Go get rid of your stuff and pack for school because they will be over everyday until you leave. I don't need them knowing what you are." said his uncle.
"Yes, uncle Vernon." said Harry as he ran up the stairs and into his room.
Harry packed all of his robes and then wondered, how was he going to get his supplies for the new year? He didn't worry about it and just thought Ron would send him a letter back and ask him to go with his family again this year.
That night, before Harry took off his glasses, Harry wrote a letter to his God Father, Sirius Black. When he finished the letter, he realized that Hedwig was gone and that he would have to hold on to the letter until he arrived at Hogwarts. He tucked the letter into his suitcase, and locked it into his closet.
Harry layed down in his bed, put his glasses on his side table, and shut the lights off. As he dozed off into a sleep, he saw the memories of the Mirror of Erised and his parents. He pictured his mother and father coming out of Voldemort's wand. Then he saw the face of a woman with silver hair. Her hair was very long and she was holding a ball of light. He looked at her with a look of curiosity on her face. She turned her head to look at him. Now Harry saw that she looked like she was in her mid 20's.
She walksed towards him to reveal a baby in her arm. It was a baby girl. He was about to move the blanket from the girls eyes when the woman turned into a snake and the child fell to the floor. The woman tried to attack Harry. Her snake fangs ran across his scar and Harry woke up.
He sat up and put his glasses on and felt his scar. He felt somethin trickle down his forehead and was afraid it was blood. He turned the light on and realized it was just sweat. He sat up in his bed and watched outside for Hedwig. He didn't see her and slowly fell back asleep.
