A Government for Maldivians by the peoples of Maldives

When public participation in politics is increased, it is now seen as more democratic.  If a country holds competitive, multi-party elections for presidential and parliamentary offices, will the world call it democratic? Otherwise it would lead to supremacy and would give room for more corruption as we now must understand.

I believe two parties in a country would be the right way for a government.  I also believe the only way to attain a fair election is to have a minimum of two candidates, especially in a presidential election. This has never been permitted. It's interesting to think what my position would have been, if it had been possible in the last elections as promised. As a citizen of this country, one basic fact we need to know and understand is that self-government depends upon honest and open debate to establish the truth and a shared respect for the rule of reason as the best way to establish that truth.

Elections must be open and fair, and this requires respectable protections for freedom of speech and to be precise `an impartial measurement'. I also would like to mention, it is now the time for us to make the right decisions towards our goals. That's for the future of all children, because the years that lie behind us and the years that lie before us are little matter when it's compared with what lies within us now. If we intend and are prepared to give real service to our country, which is the duty of every citizen, we will have to add something, which cannot be bought or measured with a financial involvement, and that surely is and would be the sincerity and integrity.

Furthermore we must respect the responsibilities of providing jobs, caring for the neglected, ethical standards demanded by religion and to protect the rights, and lives of our beloved Maldivians in this country and abroad.

If my brand of wisdom is easy enough to package and sell, this site is also the right place for the moment, and where I could find my audience. Every country and every human has a vision that needs to be respected and the need to anchor its enduring, and useful traditions, but also to energize the Maldivian society.

In any country “the people” would want their leaders to honor their national treasures and their values. These same people would not agree to give all powers to the leader for owning or auctioning, but to give them their chances to make the most of their lives now and in the future. To provide laws that offer real solutions would help to establish a healthy social and a business atmosphere. Not only make laws or rules that would give advantage to the selfish and dangerous people who take power over other people's wealth and get richer. To represent what the people need the parliament must have a say in everything that happens in the country.

We need to be sure that we create a respectable society with combined democratic values and social justice to form a system whereby everyone in Maldives can live on an equal basis with great emphasis given to the rights of individuals, respecting human life and the freedom of expression.
We all know as Maldivians nothing is 100% right other than Islam and God almighty. Although there can be exceptions in every society, it is a decision made by the people, for our country needs to follow the great religion ‘Islam’ and set our course based on it!

There has never ever been a time when our leaders were able to bring about the right wakefulness to our society with intentions of creating a reputable Islamic society with an aim of preserving unity and the integrity of Maldives.

Democracy, in simple terms means rule by the people. Rule by the people includes the making of all laws by the people or by their representatives. Laws when made by the people for their governance, for representative government and for the answerability by those governing to the governed do ensure a democratic regime.
Hence, it is for the people of Maldives, in making their constitution and other laws to decide whether religions other than Islam would be practiced by the Maldivian people. And that decision, if freely taken by the people, will be a democratic decision.

May God Almighty help us, one and another in righteousness and piety, but not help us in sin and enmity against others.

Salaam.
