1-7 Properties of Equality

Addition: add the same thing to both sides.

Subtraction: Subtract the same thing from both sides.

Division: divide the same thing from both sides.

Subtraction Property: PLUG in something.

Distributive Properties: a(b+c) = ab=ac.

Reflexive Property: a=a, AB=AB, measure of angle b = measure of angle b.

Symmetric: A=B, then B=A, AB=CD, then CD=AB.

Transitive: a=b and b=c, then a=c. LIKE SUBSTITUTION, BUT NO COMBINING LIKE TERMS!!!!

AB is congruent to CD, CD is congruent to EF, then AB is congruent to EF.
