Chapitre 1 - It's 6 AM and Jean Pierre was woken up by a phone call. His aunt, Chantal answers it and gets into a rush. Since Chantal is a very important detective, her sudden rush sparks Jean Pierre's curiosity and he follows her in his pajamas.
Chapitre 2 - Jean Pierre contacts his old friend Jaques and tells him about the mystery. They both follow Chantal to the gardens of the Louvre, where they spot Chantal, her boss, and the president, and overhear that the Mona Lisa is missing.
Chapitre 3 - It's now 11, and inspecter Granger is speaking with Chantal and his assistants. In the book, however, only Chantal seems to answer back. They are discussing about who could have done the crime. Was it Z the Turk? He was killed, but two of his associates escaped from prison.
Chapitre 4 - It's now 1:30 and Chantal finds out that Jean Pierre and Jaques followed them there and are asking what happened. She says it might be an Englishman, and they react in semishock. They both agree that it is hard to get into the Louvre and that it was a good replica. She pushes them out of the car and leaves them at le Jardin du Louvre. They spot a car with tinted windows that is driving the sidewalk and they take the number of the vehicle. An old man comes out and fumes for a while, and drops his cane. In the car they see Granger himself.
Chapitre 5 - Now it's 2. Chantal and Granger are infront of the Mona Lisa, simply examining it. Chantal is very impressed with the fact that it is a perfect copy. If word got out that it's fake, it would be the scandal of the century. Granger shows Chantal how the security system works. They check for fingerprints and Granger is suspicious of the chief of security.
Chapitre 6 - The guards that were supposed to watch the Mona Lisa on the night of the theft are called and interrogated by Granger. Chantal goes off and bumps into none other than Jaques and Jean Pierre. "What are you doing? Are you crazy?"
