Mini Me
Bulma looked around at the groggy Z-Warriors and then to King Ki. “Alright, now that you have dragged us all up here, in the dead of the night, what do you want?”
Chichi piped up, “I second that. Our boys should be in bed right now! And why did you tell Goten and myself not to tell my husband to come?”
Trunks and Goten looked up from where they were conversing in hushed tones, Goten surprised he had been brought into the conversation. Trunks blinked, “Yea, you told mom and me not to tell Papa to what was going on.”
King Ki smiled a little, “I was bored, and thought you would all like in on a joke I had in mind.”
Yamcha, always ready to do ANYTHING to make the prince of the saiyans look bad, grinned. “What kind of a joke?”
“Well, you all know about that time machine, right?” They nodded, “”I have brought two people to our time, for a little fun.”
Tien and Choutzu blinked a few times, then Tien shook his head, “I am not interested…” He turned and started off down Snake Way. Choutzu, after a few moments of thought, waved bye to everyone and went after him.
Piccolo grinned a little, “I am up for a little fun. It’s not like I take a lot of time off of my training. Besides, if it is a trick on Vegeta and Goku…” His grin broadened and he stopped talking.
King Ki turned to Krillin, “What about you?”
Krillin opened his eyes and looked around, the little man was still half-asleep, “Sure…” He spoke slowly, like he was not sure what was going on. “Count me in…”
King Ki glanced over at Yamcha, knowing he was already up for it, then looked over at Gohan, who nodded a little. Ki’s gaze drifted across the little boys and blinked, the two were sitting back to back, asleep. Gohan nudged the two with his foot.
“Hey guys,” the half saiyan whispered, “King Ki wants to know if you are in.”
Goten and Trunks nodded, and stretched. “Sure,” Trunks said, speaking for Goten as well.
King Ki then looked to the four he had been dreading to ask, and saw that all his fears were confirmed. Chichi, Bulma, 18 and Videl were standing in a line, wearing identical disapproving looks.
“Um, and you ladies?” Despite all of the Z-Warriors talents or powers, it was their wives that worried Ki the most. These girls could get very scary if they wanted.
“Though I don’t like you waking us up at midnight,” Bulma started.
“Pulling our children out of bed,” Chichi continued.
"Making a big ruckus in the middle of the night." 18 said.
“Without a word of warning,” Videl said.
The four exchanged a look, then all smiled the same grin, and "We’re in.”
King Ki breathed a sigh of relief, then waved his hand, “Come this way.” He led the little group into the house, a few seconds later Gohan came running back out, picked up Trunks and Goten, and ran back after the group. The boys were still half-asleep.
King Ki led the half-asleep fighters down a set of stairs. Once at the bottom they went down a long metal hallway and stopped at a viewing window. He gestured in the window and the puzzled group looked in. Goten and Trunks had to stand on their tiptoes to see.
Bulma gasped, “That’s Vegeta!”
Chichi frowned, “And Goku.”
It was true. The two full-blooded saiyans were lying on two separate beds in the room. Both sound asleep. Chichi, Goten, Bulma, and Trunks all turned to stare at King Ki, who swallowed nervously
“Start explaining, blue boy.” Chichi hissed.
“Well, you see. I am going to send these two on a mission to another planet.”
“Can we go?” Who else could this be but Trunks and Goten, at the same time.
“I am afraid not. You see, I have a special space ship made with only four beds in it. Two for your fathers, and two for our guests.”
“Guests?” Yamcha looked puzzled, but King Ki just shook his head.
“Please let me explain in my own way.” Yamcha nodded and Ki went on. “Anyway, I am going to tell the saiyans that there is a evil on the planet that needs to be purged, but there really isn’t. I plan to send them in this space ship, and rig the ship to CRASH, and not be able to be repaired.” As one, his audience blinked and turned to look at the sleeping saiyans. King Ki continued. “They will only know that we will not come looking for them for one year. Also that it will take us six months to find them, so total that together and they will realize that they are going to be stuck on the planet for eighteen months.”
Half of his audience winced at the thought of Vegeta and Goku being stuck on a planet alone for that long. King Ki smiled, knowing what they were thinking.
Trunks, however, only frowned, “You said something about the time machine… Where does that come into this story?”
“Smart kid.” Bulma smiled proudly. Ki nodded and gestured to the others to follow him. He walked down the hall to a viewing window that had Bubbles peering into it. When they got to the window, the lights inside were off, they could see nothing. Trunks and Goten pressed their noses against the glass to try to see.
“What’s in there?” Videl asked, leaning against Gohan.
“In there are the two guests that will make the whole trip just a little more interesting.” He set his hand against a pad on the wall, and the lights in the room came up. Once they were on the group could see that inside were two rooms, split in the middle by a wall. In each room there was a bed, and sitting on each bed was a small boy. Both had their backs against the wall, and both looked suspiciously familiar. Bulma was the first to gasp.
“That’s… Those are…” She stuttered for a few minutes, then fell silent.
Chichi peered at the boys, then stumbled back into Gohan, “Oh my!”
The children just blinked, not understanding, to them all they saw were two kids about their age. But Piccolo and Yamcha had picked up on who they were. Krillin stared in amazement, also understand, but not believing.
King Ki grinned, and looked from one stunned adult to the other, until he had a chance to giggle at all of them. “I see you recognize them. “
Trunks pulled at his sleeve, “Who are they?”
Chichi rounded on King Ki before he could answer, “Your not SERIOUS!”
“Not usually, but about this I am.” He took a breath, “I have explained to all four of them what is going to happen, but the adults think that ONLY the two of them are going, and the children here have no clue that the adults are going to be on the trip as well. They will meet AFTER the ship sets off for the empty planet.”
Bulma started giggling, “Oh my, I wish I could see the look on Vegeta’s face when he sees that kid.”
Trunks tugged at her sleeve, “Mom, who is he?”
Chichi was still frowning, but after a little while she smiled, “I guess this will be interesting.”
Goten, seeing that his friend was having no success, tugged at his mother’s pant-leg, “Who are they?”
King Ki touched the pad again and the lights in the boys’ rooms went off. Then the blue man led the group upstairs and rummaged through a cabinet in the house. He fished out ten little devices. He gave one to each of the people there. One each to Piccolo, Chichi, Gohan, Goten, Krillin, 18, Bulma, Trunks, Yamcha, and Videl.
“These will allow you to transport yourselves here at any time you want. I will have four televisions going in the house at all times. Two of them will be showing what is happening with the group at the moment, and the other two will be to play back things you might have missed because of being asleep or the like..”
Trunks and Goten attached the devices to their wrists and played with the buttons. Both boys disappeared. Bulma and Chichi shouted in surprise, but the boys both reappeared, laughing madly. “That’s cool!” They shouted, and promptly disappeared and reappeared three times before stopping.
“The wrist bands will also take you to your homes. As you can see there are little switches on the side. One says “Son Home” one says “Capsule Corp.” one “Kame Island” and so on.” He took a breath. “I will send the group off tonight, and you can all come back tomorrow to see how they fare on their first day in space. Goodnight everyone.”
Everyone said his or her goodnights, then each went back to his or her own home, excited about what was going to happen. Goten and Trunks bothered their mothers for information, but neither lady would tell them. So the two spent the night bouncing back and forth between each other’s house, until Trunks and Goten both fell asleep at Goten’s house.

Vegeta stared at the view screen on the bridge of the ship. How annoying, he thought, Why do I get stuck on a ship with the universe’s most aggravating person? He glanced over to Goku, who was playing with one of the ship’s four games. This one was some card game that involved getting the colors and numbers lined up properly until you were able to get all of the cards into one of the four piles at the top of the screen. Vegeta thought it was pointless, but he found it funny that his saiyan partner for the trip was loosing badly to the computer.
Goku looked up at Vegeta, “When are we going to get there?”
Vegeta stared at him for a few minutes then growled, “Kakarot, are you that dumb? We have only been away from that pathetic planet for two hours. It is going to take us six months to get there.” The saiyan prince rolled his eyes up to the ceiling, “We had better defeat whatever it is on this planet quickly, I do not want to spend anymore time alone with your questions than I have to.”
“Come on Vegeta, try and enjoy it!” Goku looked around, then closed the computer game and stood up. “Let's look around. I want to see if there is a room here big enough to train in.”
Vegeta watched as Goku walked out of the room, then shrugged and followed him. Both saiyans walked down the metal halls, looking almost identical. King Ki had given them something akin to the saiyan uniforms that Vegeta used to wear, the newest ones though. These did not have those ridiculous shoulder pads on them, both were deep blue.
After exploring the ship for about a half an hour Vegeta and Goku came to an odd shaped door. Not that all the doors on the ship were weird, most of them were oval shaped, but this one was split in the middle, and both halves opened outwards.
Goku reached down to try and open one, then looked at Vegeta, “They’re locked.”
Vegeta’s ever present frown deepened and he reached for the other one, after trying it he glared at Goku as if it was his fault. “Well, I am not going to spend six months on a ship where some of the contents are hidden, break open the door.” Goku nodded, and both saiyans yanked the doors open. Before they could see who or what was in the room, something came flying out of the room that Goku was in front of and tackled the taller of the saiyans to the ground.
Goku shouted in surprise, but before he could react Vegeta had grabbed Goku’s attacker by the nape of the neck and tore the attacker off of Goku. Vegeta held the small person up at eye level, then gasped at what he saw. He dropped the kid and backed up a step. The boy climbed to his feet, and backed away as well, watching the two saiyans carefully.
Goku got to his feet, and before he could ask who the kid was, another person peeked out of the room that Vegeta had opened. This boy had rather messy hair, and a puzzled look on his face. He came out and stood next to the first boy, who glanced at him, and then put him off as not a threat.
Vegeta was the first to speak, because Goku was staring at the newcomer with a look of disbelief on his face. Vegeta said, “Your ME!”
Goku seemed to realize why the second boy looked so familiar, “And your me?”
So they were. The boys standing in front of the older saiyans were indeed their younger selves. Little Vegeta wore a look of contempt on his face, but that look was just hiding the rather puzzled feeling the little prince was really feeling. This confused him, and anything that confused him was normally shot. Little Goku on the other hand just looked puzzled.
Much to Vegeta’s annoyance, it was his little self that recovered first, “Well?” It was definitely his younger self, he remembered that voice. “What is going on?”
Little Goku blinked a few times, “That blue guy said that there was a great evil on a planet he was sending me to. He said something about other people. But…” He looked up at Goku, “You look familiar.”
Goku wore an identical look of puzzlement. Vegeta had figured it out by now.
“He said that there was something evil on another planet, and he was sending four of the best fighters in the galaxy to fight it.” He frowned, “I had wondered why he had not sent our sons with us. But now I understand, who else but our past selves could be as good as us?”
“Wait a second,” Little Vegeta frowned, that is to say his already present frown deepened, “Your ME?”
Vegeta nodded, “I am your future self. This person standing next to me is the son of a third class saiyan, his name is Kakarot.”
Goku blinked, “My name is Goku!”
Little Goku blinked, “That’s MY name!”
Goku looked at his former self, “I am you, from the future.”
“COOL!”
Vegeta and Little Vegeta rolled their eyes. Vegeta grinned, “His saiyan name is Kakarot.” Little Vegeta nodded.
Goku frowned, “This is going to get confusing, what will we call the kids?”
Little Vegeta stiffened at being called a kid, but big Vegeta held a hand out to silence him. “Well, you and I will still be Kakarot and Vegeta. We should give our younger selves new names.”
“No one is changing my name! I am Prince Vegeta!”
Goku smiled, the kid acted just like his elder self, self-assured and no room to move. Then he got an idea, “That’s it! We’ll call the little Vegeta, Prince. How’s that little guy?”
Little Vegeta frowned at being called “little guy” but nodded, “Prince will do.”
“What about me?” Little Goku asked.
“Pest?” Vegeta and Prince asked simultaneously. Both grinned and glanced at the other.
Goku rolled his eyes, and looked at Little Goku thoughtfully. "Little Goku?"
"Little Goku?" Prince blinked, then sneered, "How original."
Vegeta grinned at his smaller self, but the Gokus stood their ground. Prince Vegeta shrugged, "So be it. It's your stupid name anyway." Vegeta blinked, a little surprised at the venom in his younger self's voice.
He shrugged and looked around, "Well, we are going to be on this ship for six months. I say we lay a few rules. One: No one comes in my room."
Prince Vegeta nodded, "I second that."
Vegeta glared at his younger self for interrupting him, and continued, "Two: we found a rather large room on the lowest deck, which shall be for training. If you are not in there to fight, go away." Goku smirked, very used to his fusion partner's attitude. Little Goku wasn't, however, and just looked puzzled. Vegeta continued, "Three: Both Kakarots are to TRY to keep their nonsense down to a dull roar."
"Nonsense?" Little Goku looked at Goku and Goku smiled down at him.
"He just doesn't know how to have fun."
Little Goku looked at the Vegetas with wide eyes, "Gee, how do you not have fun?" Both Vegetas huffed at this, and Vegeta turned and walked away, Prince Vegeta followed him, and soon the two were out of sight around the bend.
Goku sighed, "This could get ugly."
“That little one already looks ugly. Why do they frown so much?” Little Goku looked up at his older self.
Goku shrugged, “Bad childhood I guess.” He smiled and picks his little self up, swinging him in a circle, “Not a happy one like you!” Little Goku laughed and Goku smiled. “Let's go see what the Princes are up to shall we?” Little Goku nodded and Goku walked out with his little self perched on a shoulder.
