How to Make Corrections

You will have the opportunity to correct ALL graded assignments in science this year.
A failing grade will be raised to a C-, if corrected correctly. A passing grade will be raised to the next letter grade if corrected correctly.

Directions for Making Corrections

ALL CORRECTIONS ARE TO BE DONE ON SEPARATE PAPER FROM ORIGINAL

TEST/QUIZ CORRECTIONS
Every time you have a test or a quiz you will also have the opportunity to correct your mistakes. Correcting ALL errors completely will increase your original grade. When you have completed your corrections, attach them to the original and turn them in. The following procedures will tell you how to correct your work:

  • SPELLING ERRORS - Respell the word 10 times correctly.
  • DEFINITION ERRORS - Rewrite the word and the definition.
  • MULTIPLE CHOICE ERRORS - Write the entire statement along with the correct answer.
  • FILL IN ERRORS - Write the entire statement with the correct answer.
  • QUESTIONS/ESSAYS - Rewrite the entire answer so that it is completely correct.

LAB WRITE-UP CORRECTIONS
After your lab is returned to you, use your grading key to determine your mistakes. Then ON SEPARATE PAPER make all necessary corrections. Attach your corrections to the original lab and turn them both in to your teacher.

HOMEWORK CORRECTIONS
Determine your mistakes, make necessary corrections on SEPARATE PAPER, attach to original, turn in when done.

REMEMBER Doing corrections increases your grade. Failing grades are raised to a C- and all passing grades are raised 1 letter grade.

Corrections for each chapter are due the day of the chapter test for that chapter.
