Habitat: Wooded areas around lakes and ponds in Colorado. Will
make a web-like nest using sticks and webbing amongst large rocks.

Structural
Adaptations:
The bump on its back contains poison which is
secreted through the fangs when it bites its prey. The flat-bottomed red legs are
covered with tiny hairs used when making webs. The feet also allow these
arachnids to “skate” across water
