Dear Crusaders Basketball Alumni-
The Crusaders Basketball program has had a wonderful history over the years. State championships, county championships, league titles, 1000 point scorers, state tournament berths, and other outstanding feats have been a few of the outstanding accomplishments by our basketball players over the years. We here at Bound Brook High School are again making significant strides. Our basketball program over the past few years has taken a step forward in once again restoring a sense of pride and building upon what many of our players in the past have accomplished.
The Crusaders Basketball program is fresh off our first state tournament appearance in close to ten years; we surpassed the most wins for the program in over ten years, and in addition advanced to the second round of the Somerset County Tournament for the first time in five years. Also, we were chosen as the surprise team of the 2005-2006 season by the Star Ledger. With that in mind we at Bound Brook would like to look to our past in hopes of continuing to rejuvenate our program in the present and future. Therefore, I am inviting all former players to our first game of the 2006-2007 basketball season vs. Manville High School on December 15th, 2006 at 7:00 pm. The night will be the first alumni high school basketball reunion in Bound Brook history. We have invited players from the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and the 2000's. The night will kickoff with a pregame announcement of all of the players in attendance. There will then be a 10 minute video highlight film of Crusader Basketball memories over the past years, an announcement of the All-Crusader Basketball team, and in addition an All- Decade team. The All-Crusaders Basketball Teams will be selected position by position by a committee of former players. In addition following our game vs. Manville High School, we ask all those in attendance and their families to take part in a post game dinner with our players in our high school cafeteria. Please fill in the questionnaire attached to this letter and mail it back to me no later then November 22nd.
Being a former player and student of Bound Brook High School I have a fond memory of Crusaders Basketball for a long period of time. My aim is to once again create an atmosphere that was prevalent throughout the Bound Brook High School gym for many years. While doing so, we would like to recognize and show appreciation for all of our basketball teams, coaches, and players throughout the years. This season will be dedicated to all of you! This year's slogan for our team will be "Restoring a Proud tradition". We have taken giant steps over the course of the past few year's, we would like nothing more then to have the support and spirit of the former players with us this season.
