-- 12th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry -- Company H
Welcome
Thank you for entering the home page of the 12th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry - Company H
Reenactors of the American Civil War - 1861 to 1865.
We strive for an authentic portrayal of the men, women, and children of the period - both military and civilian.
There are enough organizations out there that approach this hobby like it is only a game that they play when the mood strikes them - never learning how to do a credible job of portrayal.
We want to immerse ourselves in the manners and outlook of those who went through the war as well as to learn the mechanics of proper military drill.
Military ranks are based upon the need of the company and displayed knowledge of the various commands - not who your friends are.
We are a small, family friendly unit that is based in Southern New Jersey.
Our members currently come from Gloucester, Cumberland, & Cape May counties.

-
We are associated with Smyth's Brigade as an Infantry unit.
-
Our primary impression is a Federal Artillery Battery, but we also do other types of units.
-
Our artillery impressions are the 1st New Jersey Light Artillery - Battery D & Powahatan Artillery - Dance's Battery
-
Our cavalry impression is the 7th Pennsylvania Cavalry - Company D and the 1st Virginia Cavalry - Company D
-
We currently have three Coehorn mortars taking the field.
