TUSCAN LODGE NO. 1

"To keep and conceal and never reveal..."

WORSHIPFUL MASTER'S ADDRESS
Greetings,

It is once again the beginning of another year with one difference,  this is also the beginning of a new millennium.  All of us, as Brethren, will probably only be fortunate enough to see this happen only once in our lifetime.  My hope is that we make this as important an event in our Masonic lives as we make it  in our daily lives.  This should not be too difficult as the two should be intermingled anyway.  For you cannot be a good Mason and not be a good overall person and vice versa.  You cannot be a good overall person without being a good Mason.

While this is all true let us think for a minute about the difference between a
Good Mason and a Responsible Mason.  As I said before it does not take much to be a good Mason if you are living correctly in your life.  Keeping all your passions within due bounds and putting into practice what you have learned through study of your Masonic lessons.  But in order to keep your Lodge running with efficiency I need cooperation and participation from all members.  This is where being a responsible Mason comes into play.  Let us not forget our obligations said we will if within the length… answer all due signs and summonses.  This means that even though we are comfortable in that easy-chair  it is our duty to come to meetings.   This is where every individual Brother must search within himself because only you know when a meeting is impossible to make or just inconvenient to make.

I,  as your WM,  must take some of the responsibility for that part of the puzzle for if a meeting is truly enlightening it does not feel like a burden or inconvenience to attend.  So this is my pledge to you to do everything within my power to make each meeting that you attend as fulfilling as I possibly can.  The only way I can do that is to make each meeting worthwhile so you don't feel like your wasting your time.

I feel the best way to accomplish this is to do two things but first let me ask you a question.  What about Masonry gives you the best feeling?  The answer is twofold.  First the feeling you receive when you have given some kind of charity whether it  be  monetary, physically helping someone do something they may no longer be able to do, or even just being a willing ear to listen to another's problems and offer suggestions for solution.  This, as we all know is, your real Masonic Wages.  That feeling you get when you have truly made a difference in someone's life.  This only happens when your Lodge is active in the community.  I promise that Tuscan Lodge No. 1 will be.   Secondly,  the feeling you receive from fellowshipping with your Brothers.  I, as your WM, again have to apologize for this shortcoming and will diligently work with our JW in order to insure that proper refreshment be served at every meeting so that true fellowshipping with your Brethren may once again be a large part of our Masonic experience.

In closing,  I just want to say that I in no way profess to have all the answers,  but I am willing to try so that we can prosper the way that a Masonic Lodge is supposed to.

      Fraternally submitted,

      Rt.W. Paul G. Moore Sr. 33rd
