Let me give you a little background on myself and these poems: First of all, I want anyone who views these pages to know that I am not the kind of person who takes herself too seriously. I'm fully aware that some of these poems may be corny, but they are honest and written from the heart. My original intention, when writing these poems, was to hopefully sell them for publication. My angle was this - I figure, young kids (especially boys) don't, for the most part, read poetry. So, maybe they would read poetry if the subject matter was something they could relate to - something that interested them, and they could understand. And, since I am a huge hockey fan, I decided to try writing poems about it. These poems reflect my favorite things about the game and its players, plus I've tried to write some from the point of view of a young person. I hope you like them. ~L.M.D.
