Where's My Asian Friend?: A Blink 182 Site For The Music Lover's Soul

The Peter Pan Complex:

This site is very different to all of the other sites about Blink 182 on the web. On this one I will explain all of my findings to Blink 182's music. The little things that people miss while tabbing out their songs. And I will prove to all of the people that say Blink 182 has changed, that through their music theory they haven't changed one bit. Some of the things that I say you will think I am crazy for noticing such a subtle variation in implied notes or sounds. But hey this shit is fun to me!!!.... First of all we have Tom Delonge, the guitarist of the band. He Plays Fender Custom Shop Stratocasters made just for him. These Strats are very unique, they are almost completly stripped down to an acoustic. They have no tremelo bar, no pick up selection switches, no tone knobs, only one Seymour Duncan Invader Pickup in the bridge posistion, with a simple volume knob. This I feel is excelent because pickup switching can get way to tedious on stage, and to me it is bullshit. Way to go Tom! Tom also uses another Stratocaster with a baritone telecaster neck on it. This gives him a whole step lower note. He also has this strat stripped. He uses it for lower songs he would normally have to tune down to such as "Adam's Song." Not only does Tom Have a distilled guitar he also uses no effects whatsoever. He plugs immediatly into a Shure wireless system then into a Mesa/Boogie amp Switcher which splits into a Marshall JCM 900 which Tom puts on the clean channel and turns the gain all the way up to get his clean sound. (Note that Tom's clean sounds have a ton of midrange.) The other split signal go's to a Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifier which has a very fat sound which is great for Tom. Combined Tom pushes all of this sound out of 3 Mesa/Boogie 4x12 cabenits loaded with Celestion speakers. He has 2 of the cabs connected to the triple recto, with V-30s in them, and 1 cab hooked to the Marshall with Greenbacks in it. But don't stop there, on the latest recording I think Tom Used a third amp. I believe it was a Fender Bassman to get a beefeir sound on some songs. But we will get into that later. Next Mark the bassist... Mark currently plays Fender Custom Shop Precision Basses. He has a number of different ones. Some people the shape makes the difference between a jazz, and a P-Bass but they are wrong. It is actully the pickup. Notice all of Mark's jazz shaped basses have the split P pickup in them. Some people think they can just buy a jazz bass, buy a p pickup, and stick the pickup right in. But they are wrong the body of a regular jazz bass has the hole in the actuall shapped for the jazz pickup. Thats why you have to Custom buy this bass. Mark in the past had 2 Ampeg SVT-3 amps powering 2 Ampeg 810E cabs, and a Mesa/Boogie Bass 400+ amp powering another Ampeg 810E cab. But now for some reason he just uses the 2 Ampeg SVT-3 amps with the 2 810E cabs. Either way it is fucking great. As for Travis... Travis plays Orange County Drum Percussion drums, which are totaly custom, they don't make set packages just like any other drum company. On top of that they let you pick from a million different woods, coatings, finishes, and like, everything. You get what you pay for. You probably won't get one for under 5 grand. Zildjian Z Cymbals with you really can't lose with, 5B sticks, and Remo Coated Emperor drum heads. Now what I am about to say about Travis. I am not just going to say because he is the drummer for my favorite band, but because it is totally true. He is just the sickist drummer in the world. He is INCREDIBLE! He does shit that is so fast and next to impossible, it is mind blowing. If you see Blink live Travis does a super long drum solo that makes you want to pee yourself. Words don't describe how good he is. Scott sucked. ******UNDER CONSTRUCTION*******
