RESERVATIONS IN ADVANCE are required. Even if entering the day of the show you must call no later than the Thursday before. Anyone who does not call ahead will NOT get a table.

Hall will open for open exhibitors at about 8:30am. Open Judging begins at 9:30 a.m. that includes foal halter.

Open Division (NAN Qualifier) is on Saturday Judging starts at 9 a.m.

Novice Division is on Sunday. Judging starts at 10 a.m.

Each judge will be working on two rings. While one is being judged, the other can be set up. If a horse in one ring is needed in the other, props can be set up and as soon as the first class is judged the horse can be moved. Tack up horses at home for their first class. Set up for the first classes in each ring can begin as soon as exhibitors are ready.

RULES AND EXPLANATIONS

Only the Open Division will qualify horses for NAN

Not going to NAN? Save those tickets for the Merit Awards Program. See www.namhsa.org for details.

Novice: Any age, for exhibitors who are not ready for the open or not interested in going to NAN. You may not enter the same models in both open and novice classes. See class list for entry restrictions.

**TAGS Exhibitors will fill out their own tags. Free tags are available at the show hall on arrival. One side of tag should have horse's name, breed and sex. The other side will have only your exhibitor number which will be assigned when your entry is received.

If you exhibited at Hunterdon Model Horse Fest or November Model Horsefest previously you will most likely get the same number.

You may also use the Region 10 tag system (formerly region 5) just tell me what the number is.

OF Plastic- original finish: a mass produced model that has NOT been altered in any way. Repairs are OK as long as the original structure has not been changed. OF models will be judged on condition of model, age and rarity, breed type and conformation.

Customized Plastic: A plastic model such as Breyer of Peter Stone, etc. that has been altered by someone other than the manufacturer,. Alterations may include, but not limited to reshaping, repainting, hairing, and/or additions of glass eyes, shoes, veins etc. Sculptures include those made from resins, epoxies, pottery, plastic compounds, etc.

Customized models will be judged on breed type and conformation, workmanship, condition, and realism.

Factory Resins/ China: Casted china, porcelain, ceramic, or resin. Includes Northlights, Pour Horse, Hagen Renakers, etc.

Customized/Artists Resins: Produced on a relatively small scale by independent artists, may be custom painted, haired, etc.

Original Sculptures: A one of a kind sculpture made by a model horse artist by hand from scratch not from a mold.

Performance classes will be judged on correctness and fit of tack for the event, detail and realism, appropriateness of model for event and presentation. If it is not obvious to everyone what exactly the horse is doing write an explanation on an index card and place it where the judge can see it. When in doubt use a card.

Tables - Each person showing more than 30 models will get their own table which will be provided. Those showing 30 or fewer horses will have to share tables with several other small "stables" depending on space available.

A $5 discount will apply to exhibitors showing 30 or more horses who bring their own table. (does not apply to day of show entries)

Limits There is a limit of 3 horses per class, per exhibitor except in classes marked with a *. In those classes so marked, each exhibitor may enter 3 of each breed or type and if more than 30 horses are entered in the class and there is at least 15 of one breed or type, the class will be split accordingly. For example if 15 Thoroughbreds are entered with 7 Standardbred and 8 Warmbloods, the TB's will have their own class.

Entry Fees pre-entered up to 1 week before the show: Add $5 per stable or $.50 per horse after deadline or day of show.

Open Division: All day - 1 to 9 horses $2.50 per horse, 10 to 20 horses $22; 21 to 35 horses $30 and 36 to 50 horses $35, over 50 horses $40. Halter or performance only 1 to 9 horses $1.50 per horse; 10 to 20 horses $15; 21 to 35 horses $20 and 36 to 50 horses $25, over 50 horses, $30.

Novice Division: All day - 1 to 9 horses $1 per horse; 10 to 20 horses $10; 21 to 35 horses $15 and 36 to 50 horses $20 over 50 $25

Halter or performance only 1 to 9 horses $.75 per horse, 10 to 20 horses $7.50, 21 to 35 horses $10 and 36 to 50 horses $15.

CLASS EXPLANATIONS

Foals: Any model depicting a horse under 1 year of age.

Minis: Little Bits size or smaller, about 1/24 scale. NEW FOR 2005 Minis will not have their own performance division, they will show in the regular performance classes

English Pleasure: English tack required. Horse should appear to be a pleasure to ride. Models may be standing, walking, trotting or cantering.

Gaited horse under saddle. Any gaited horse under any type of saddle: saddlebreds, Tennessee walkers, pasos, fox trotter, rocky mountain horses, etc.

Harness: Any type of harness including work, parade, racing, pleasure, show etc. Pairs or teams count as one entry rather than as individual horses in the entry limits.

Western Pleasure: Western tack required appropriate for type of horse. Models may be shown at stand, walk, jog or lope.

Hunter/Jumper: English tack req. Jump or obstacle is required. Jumps may be natural (hunters or cross country) or man made (jumpers). Jumpers may wear protective boots.

Trail: Eng. or West. Obstacles required, may be natural or man made.

Games/sports Props required. Any gymkhana event including pole bending, scurry, barrels, keyhole, pin drop, etc. or sport such as polo, polocross, military drills, etc.

Realistic Costume: Any costume; show or historical including arab native costume, middle ages, parade, Indian, circus, Spanish, etc. that is actually worn by real horses in real life.

Imaginary/creative costume Have some fun! Dress up your models any way you like, realism goes in the manure pile here. Creativity counts!

Western Working: Any type of work done in western tack; including roping, steer wrestling, cutting, packing etc.

Other: Includes dressage, sidesaddle, stable scenes, flat racing, movie scenes, long reining, etc. Anything that will not fit anywhere else.

Horsecraft: Must be made by the exhibitor. Judged on craftsmanship of obstacle or tack only but should be displayed on or with a horse. Judged on accuracy of detail, scale, realism and workmanship.

Non-equine performance: Any animal besides horses or mules. ie Dog agility, sled dogs, carting dogs, herding dogs, camel racing, bull riding, etc. Horses may be used as props.

HALTER SETUPS No fancy set ups in halter classes, for the sake of time. Felt or padding is OK as a measure to protect your models from damage but please be considerate of other people. Your felt should only be big enough for your model, no bigger.

Breeds (TB = Thoroughbred, QH = quarterhorse, WB = Warmblood, Stb = Standardbred, App = Appaloosa)

Realistic Showmanship: Should reflect proper showmanship for the breed in real life. Halter or bridle required. Dolls are not required but if used should be dressed properly for their breed or type of showmanship.

Creative Showmanship: Ways to show off your model. Use your imagination. Your set up should draw attention to your model (s) Any tack is allowed. Will be judged more on the scene rather than the individual model. Not to be used as an other performance or a costume class.

COLLECTORS CLASS: limited to about 2'-3' square space, but as many models as you can fit in that space. May represent a theme, (all one breed, color, mold or size) or represent the wondrous variety of collecting model horses. Judged on condition of models, presentation, and uniqueness.

AWARDS: Flat ribbons in all classes to 10th place. Rainbow Rosettes to champions in each division. Champs will be chosen by callbacks. Place all ribbons won by that horse with it for the final judging. Halter divisions will also award top five and top ten ribbons depending on size of the division in addition to the champion and reserve. All Champions and Reserves, top fives and top tens return for overall championship judging by all three judges. Special prizes may be awarded to champions.

FOOD: Food will be available for sale on-site. Nearby restaurants include Pizza, McDonalds, Wendy's, Boston Market, Burger King etc. If time allows a lunch break will be taken. (Don't count on it though!)

RAFFLE Prizes will depend on donations.

SALES TABLES: Sales tables are available for $10.00 or $20.00 retail value prize donation, to non showers or to those of you who need extra space, AS SPACE ALLOWS. Exhibitors may sell items from your table if you do not have that much to sell. Tables will be assigned on a first come first served basis after all exhibitors have space.

DIRECTIONS

From Pennsylvania/Western Jersey Take Route 78 East to Exit 17, Route 31 South. Go several miles and several lights and lots of construction barrels. You will come to the Flemington Circle. Stay to the right for Route 12. You will come to two more circles, again stay to the right and make sure you stay on Route 12. The county complex will be on your left. Look for the library signs.

From New York/Eastern New Jersey Take Route 78 West to Route 31 South. Follow directions above.

From South Jersey Take Route 95 North to Route 31 North (Pennington) to the Flemington Circle. Go almost completely around the circle to get on Route 12 South.
