At the May 30, 2002 awards assembly, the winners will receive collections of poetry by illustrative African American Poets.

Honey, I Love and Other Love Poems by Eloise Greenfield, et al will be awarded
to all of the Third Place Winners.
Pass It on : African-American Poetry for Children by Wade Hudson (Editor), Floyd Cooper (Illustrator) will be awarded to
all Second Place Winners.
Words with Wings: A Treasury of African-American Poetry and Art by Belinda Rochelle (Editor) will be awarded to our
First Place Winners.
We at Woodland are very excited about several of our students who have submitted their poetry in other poetry writing contests.
All of us should be encouraged to know that our students are thoughtful and inspired by Dr. King's life and legacy.
