Message From Our Principal

I would like to thank the students and their family for supporting this very worthwhile writing competition. I would like to give special thanks to Mrs. Jackie Cox Strother for being the inspiration and catalyst for this activity as a major project of our PTWS (Parent and Teachers at Woodland School) and PTWS for providing the hardback book, Words with Wings awarded to the First Place Winners . Many thanks to Ms. Logan for encouraging student and staff participation and for involving Mr. Bonaparte and Mrs. Jenkins, Woodland teachers, as judges.

We at Woodland are very excited about several of our students who have submitted their poetry in other poetry writing contests.

All of us should be encouraged to know that our students are thoughtful and inspired by Dr. King's life and legacy.

Mrs. Shirley Johnson-Tucker
