CRYSTAL LEWIS
Faith City - Newark, DE – October 20, 2001

It’s a surprise
that Crystal Lewis would make an appearance in the Philadelphia area, but thank
God that she did! She has always been my most favorite Christian singer.
Whenever I listen to her music, I always feel the presence of God. In this
performance, it’s no exception.
Like the John Hagee
Gathering in PA, the backdrop was a huge American Flag. She’s sung her heart
out. After a select amount of songs, she had read a few scriptures. She also
sang a song in honor of the September 11th tragedy.
Crystal is an
attractive, petite woman. She is also a very humble, down-to-earth person. She
sees her fans just as they are. Unlike Jessica Simpson, she was not trying to
kill herself to be a Britney Spears or a Jennifer Lopez in image to gain
popularity. She knew who she was in the Lord, and she was just being herself.
She came to this concert with just generic attire – a black short-sleeved top
and tan khakis.
After the concert
was over, she was nice enough to meet her fans, and to sign whatever the fans
had. I didn’t have much money that day, so it was hard to purchase anything of
hers. I hadn’t seen her latest release of her CD (titled “More”), so I couldn’t
purchase anything from there anyways. Fortunately, I had two of her CDs already
in my car, so I went to my car to get one of them (the Fearless CD).

My autographed copy of
her album, Fearless
I’ve waited in
line to get the CD autographed. As I was waiting in line, I had found out that
most people didn’t go crazy and bought the little memorabilia that was out.
Most of the people only gave her whatever they had to sign – T-shirts,
Pictures, WXHL radio station flyers (their radio station is located within the
facility), etc. After I’ve finally met her in person. I’ve told her how much
I’ve loved her music. I gave her the option of signing the front cover or the
CD. She chose the front cover. I’ve thanked her for her music. By the time I
was finished talking to her, I had realized that I wound up giving her one of
the “Bob Barker impressions” (I’ve pointed at her harmlessly)… she cringed… (It
was no surprise that she would feel a little insecure about that especially
when most people was kind of funny about certain things after the 9/11
incident. It was only recently when I was watching the last few minutes of The
Price is Right, and Bob Barker announced the values of the showcases, and
when he told the winning contestant that she had won, he pointed to the winning
contestant, and she did the same as Crystal – cringe! Now I don’t feel so bad
after all.) LOL

Hi. I’m Crystal Lewis from
the Planet Mars.
