CREATION FESTIVAL 2003

Cars being parked outside of Giant Center awaiting a campsite.
I know this page and only this page will have lots of numbers, and I was told not to overuse numbers in the 3rd grade. I'm sorry, I just couldn't resist doing so.
I decided to get an early start on Tuesday, June 24th - just a day before Creation started, in order to get comfortably settled and everything. My car is packed with camping needs, digital camera, drinks, and snacks. I left at around 2pm that afternoon, and arrived at the festival grounds at 4pm. The wait just to get out of the Giant Center parking lot ALONE, in order to get a campsite was an incredible 1½ hours! The wait was so long that everyone was hurting for things to do. During that time, I met a couple from North Jersey named Bill and Barbara, and they brought a small group of people along.

Two of them, I camped next to. At about 5:30pm, I left the Giant Center grounds, only to wait another 3 hours along wooded Boathouse Road. After a long, hectic wait, I finally arrived at my campground at the back end of Section C about 8:45pm. In a hurry to get my tent and everything set up before it became too dark, I decided to only pull out my tent, sleeping bag, flashlight, boombox, and digital camera, making for an uninspired setup.

After I set up shop, I decided to walk the grounds to get a feel of the surroundings that I would be in, and coming to find out that I would have a lot of walking in store for the next several days. The time to get from Section C to the main stage at Hershey Park Stadium would be about 35 minutes, and to Giant Center, another 20 minutes' walk.
After more than my fair share of walking, I decided to head back to my campsite, and get plenty of rest for what's in store on Wednesday.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
