Note: Creation Festival signs may be posted at the PA Turnpike interchange, and at the intersection at which you should make your turn to get to the festival grounds.

Gas Prices

Gas prices got you down? I feel your pain!

The cost of gasoline is at all-time highs. As I'm posting this, prices are well over $2 per gallon. In many places, it's now over $3 per gallon.

There isn't much I can do to help relieve the cost burdens of gasoline, but I could recommend checking out this site to find the cheapest gasoline in your area:

CREATION NE 2006 POSTPONED UNTIL 2007!!!

Creation Festival is an annual, Christian music event geared toward people of all ages. Each year, Creation is mainly held at the Agape Farm in Mt. Union, PA - a rural town in the "middle of nowhere". Agape Farm is located in the Allegheny Mountain range, which provides for breathtaking scenery for festival goers. It's centrally located within a 4-hours' drive from five metro areas - Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, and New York City.

In 2005, Creation Festival officials were happy to boast a record attendance of over 75,000 people.  This year's attendance could meet or exceed that amount.

This event lasts for 3 days and 4 nights early in the Summer season.  Creation 2007 will begin Wednesday, June 27th, and last through the evening of Saturday, June 30.

Bands and Speakers

---

This year’s lineup has a wide assortment of well-known bands, singers, and speakers. They will perform in one of two stages - the Main Stage and the Fringe Stage. The Main Stage hosts the best-selling bands, while the Fringe Stage hosts mostly lower profile bands as well as those that are up and coming.

Some of the top-selling bands performing at the Main Stage this year include Third Day, Casting Crowns, Newboys, and Relient K. Audio Adrenaline, will make their last appearance at Creation. Other artists include Kutless, Skillet, and Jeremy Camp.

The artists due to perform at the Fringe Stage this year include Seventh Day Slumber, Superchick, and John Reuben.

Inspiring speakers such as Ron Luce from Acquire the Fire Ministries will be there. Other speakers will include, as well as Duffy Robbins, Bob Lenz, Reggie Dabbs, Greg Stier, among a number of others.

Life at Creation

---

This year’s event will be in its 28th year. Each and every year, Creation is a whole new adventure. It gets more and more exciting, and there’s never a dull moment. God's presence is felt here more and more. I'm also seeing more and more lives committed to Christ.

At Creation, you have the opportunity to meet and make friends with people who share your faith in Christ. Even if you haven't yet accepted Christ, or you've never been at Creation before, don't feel like you're out of the picture. Your presence is welcome here.

This event has a wide variety of Christian bands that you know and love, as well as world-renowned speakers throughout the day as well as in the evening.

Accomodations

Most other music festivals will charge an extra fee for camping, or force you to find a hotel room if you want to spend more than one day. Creation is an exception to the rule. Camping is provided free of charge. Individual camping spots have a reasonable amount of space to park a car and set up a personal camping tent. The only pitfall to the campsites - especially for those that desire to bring campers - are that these sites are primitive. Therefore, there are no electric or water hookups.

Showers are provided free of charge, except of you prefer hot showers, there is an additional $10 fee. Restrooms are conveniently located throughout the festival grounds. They are portable restrooms which are cleaned periodically throughout the event.

You have the option of finding a hotel room within an hour's drive from Agape Farm, but these places are few and far in between, and the few rooms that are available at the time of the festival are usually booked months in advance.

Climate

During the day, it’s usually very hot and humid outside. Most people will start out their day early in the morning to take showers and prepare for the day’s events. They will spend a good portion of the day checking out different bands and speakers at the main and fringe stages. With prolonged exposure to the scorching sun each day, I strongly recommend bringing sunscreen.

The evening is where most of the crowd comes to the main stage, to see headlining events which usually end at around 11pm. At night most people hang out with their friends or groups, or simply rest up for the next day. Some nights at Agape Farm will become so cool that you will begin to see your breath as soon as sunset. I would recommend bringing a few sweaters, as well as a thick sleeping bag (or a sleeping bag along with a comforter), which keeps you warm in cooler temperatures.

I hope, if Lord is willing, to see you at Creation this year. We are going to have a wonderful time once again in Jesus Christ!

Safety First!

---

Most of us go to Creation to fellowship in Jesus Christ. By this festival being a Christian event, it's easy for us feel that nothing bad can happen there. I'm not trying to scare or intimidate anyone, but like any other place, if we fail to become aware of our safety, our good times at Creation can be disrupted, or in the worst case, cut short.

Avoid dehydration! Drink plenty of fluids!
Most of the days are usually hot, and there are NO air-conditioned facilities. If you have enough courage to endure the crowds during the main acts in the evening, more power to you. Being in the crowds at night can be just as hot as it is during the day. It's not a pretty picture to see someone pass out because of dehydration. Dehydration happens when you don't have enough fluids in your body to function properly.

The best way to stay cool is to drink plenty of water! If you'd like to mix things up, drink a good amount of sports drinks or fruit juices - preferably natural fruit juices. I don't recommend drinking sodas during the day because it is loaded with acids and other ingredients likely to dehydrate you and cause you to sweat more. If you need a caffeine rush, bring some bottles of your favorite iced tea, but one bottle is enough. It never hurts to bring some salty snacks (e.g. pretzels, chips) to go along with your drinks. Whenever you sweat, you need to replace the salt and fluids that come out of your body in order to prevent dehydration.

Meeting new people!
Creation is a great place to meet new people - especially those that share our faith in Jesus Christ. It is advisable to meet people ONLY in places that are open, and have a fair amount of people in the area. It is NOT safe to meet any person in secluded areas where there isn't anyone around. Those that care about you may never see you again.  Keep this in mind when meeting new people.

Beware of pickpockets!
Pickpockets spend most of their time in places where there are heavy and often distracted crowds. These predators often work in pairs, and one person will appear to accidentally run into you, and then appear to very briefly hold onto places that people are likely to have money in them. For men, it's often in the rear pockets. For women, it's often an open or poorly secured purse. When a pickpocket clings to or touches a place where you are likely to have money in them, often it's too late, and these people may be nowhere to be found. Be sure your wallets and belongings are in a secure place.
