Are you interested in GLBTI-themed movies, whether big hits (American Beauty, Boys Don't Cry, Cabaret) or great but less well known works (Fire, My Own Private Idaho, Poison)? Would you like to see movies like these while socializing with other friendly men and women, and share a potluck dinner together?
If your answer is Yes!, come to this group's movie/social events on the third Saturday of each month at a host's home in northern or central NJ. Events are free, but you must bring a favorite entree, side dish, beverage, or dessert to share with the group. Each month the group votes on what featured movie to show next time.
Women – Lesbian, Bi, Trans, Intersexed, Straight – you are very welcome here! For everybody we try to maintain a safe and friendly space at events.
Movies seen during the NJGFS&PDC's first three years (September 1999 – September 2002) include such films as Beautiful Thing, Bound, Broken Hearts Club, Chasing Amy, Desert Hearts, Gods & Monsters, Heavenly Creatures, Maurice, Opposite of Sex, Parting Glances, Philadelphia, Talented Mr. Ripley, Urbania, and Wedding Banquet.
