- teenage fanclub. classified as "zit pop" or "pimple" or something else *acne poppin' fresh* by nytimes.
- built to spill. it's all about the new album's first two tracks.
- half-japanese. so influential no one's heard of them.
- sleater-kinney. addictive.
- silver jews. occasionally boring but the lyrics compensate. who can't not like a song that opens: "in 1984 i was hospitalized for approaching perfection"?!
- the apples (in stereo). some crazy shit.
- the figgs. better than eve 6. not that that says a lot.
- de la soul. yay rap.
- radiohead. my physics teacher said the only answer to an extra credit question was "AC/DC," but i caught her with "Radiohead."
- a tribe called quest. regretfully, i have yet to hear "low-end theory." i'm messed up.
- public enemy. this would be clever if they were my favorite group. public enemy #1. haha.

- gaslight. yale band. i have a feeling they're born again christians and don't know it. win some, lose some.
- blur / sloan / odds. winsome. i also just like that juxtaposition of names.
- cornelius. he's got a track based on magoo.
- liz phair. well, i've pretty much gotten all the stereotypical indie rock bases covered, haven't i?
- cibo matto. know your chicken.
- buffalo daughter / zoobombs. i like the zoobombs' "JUMBO" song.
