Dunlending tribe of the Aeduani
Dunland was wild and disorganized, with many separate tribes
constantly raiding each others borders for glory or profit. Personal Honor and
Glory were the greatest gifts anyone could aspire to. Many chieftains called
themselves King, but their claims meant nothing beyond their own valleys.
That was before a birth (some say rebirth) of a bloody and
violent religion, the Temple of Justice, and their venerated Horned Ones.
Called by locals the Temple of the Bulls, they believe in Blood-Magic and
sacrifices to appease their pitiless god. They have absorbed and conquered all
of northern Dunland (2 years ago) then expanded into western Dunland (last
year) and now look to the south.
Omens and visions point to a great evil army coming to
conquer and enslave southern Dunland, and the only tribe that foresees and
plans for this is the Aeduani, but their enemy may be too large to defeat. The
High Druid Menua foretold of the coming of the Evil Horde and now although the
fate maybe inevitable, not everything is foretold.
The Characters
Murad [Mike Vapnik] Dunlending Chieftain
- Chieftain of the Aeduani and
Son of Korla. This young
man is forced to become Chief when his father is murdered by the Temple of the
Horned God. The Aeduani were driven from their lands and the burial grounds
holding the spirits of the ancestors, they fled into the mountains to apparent
safety.
Funja [Jeff Englert] Dunlending Bard - Was a young clan leader of the largest clan
of the Aeduani, but discovered a talent for story-telling and has grown
into the tribe’s greatest bard. His stories help form opinions, turning common
men into heroes or heroes into fools. Though a warrior scoffs at skills like
this, the wise and powerful know his attacks are more deadly than any
sword-stroke,
Jondalar [Andy Schweighardt] Dunlending
Druid- He was a
scout and young clan-leader of a
wandering border clan, but also discovered a hidden talent. He was briefly
mentored by Menua, the High Druid of the Southlands, who saw this
talent awaiting to waken.
Usif [Carl Brooks] Dunlending Warrior – Tribal
Champion and Son of their legendary hero Uhon, the Sword-brothers
follow him but few remain. His father became famous for defeating 5 men in
consecutive challenges, but he must do much more. Little by little more
warriors come to the tribe, but as more outsiders join his reputation is
questioned and he will have to fight to retain his position.
Broda [Mike Perks] Human of unknown
tribe, Berserker – He was found wandering the outskirts of the land
with a head wound and little memory of his past. A gentle giant, his great
strength and willingness to help quickly made him a favorite of the common
laborers. Then he discovered a mad fury in combat, and little by little
remembers his violent past.
Gone but not forgotten
Magnus Angusson [Dean Norman] Dunlending
Warrior - Sworn Companion of
the Druids, he was sent out on a dangerous quest to learn how to combat the
evil Temple of Justice. Traveler of many distant lands, he met his death bravely
in Cardolan defending another people’s lands and fighting another
people’s enemy, yet is all but forgotten for this.
