Heat Race - 8 Laps - 4th Place
I started 7th for the heat on the inside of row 4. I fell back on the restart, but worked my way back to 4th right on the tail of #87 Mike Stull for the finish.

Feature Race - 20 Laps, DNF - 17th Place
I started 9th on the inside of row 5 for the feature. I moved to the outside on the start and began moving forward but by the end of lap 1 the caution was out. I was moved back from 6th to 8th for the restart. On the next 3 attempts to get the race back under way I moved up around the outside, but in each case before a lap could be completed the caution would come out relegating me to my previous spot in 8th place.
Once the race started I again worked the outside, but my car developed a very severe vibration, which caused me to pull off the track. It would turn out to be a loose driveshaft. Again our race ended prematurely. However it could have been much worse if the driveshaft came completely apart while running at speed. At least the car isn’t damaged. So we’ll try again next race.

Later that evening, Bryan and I watched "local boy" Ray Evernham of NASCAR fame run to a 15th place finish in the Modified feature. Ray was headed for a top 10 finish, but a spin in turn 3 put him back in the pack.

Jim Tomaino of Bayville came from sixth to win the 20-lapper for the Legend Cars, taking the lead from eventual runner-up Ron Poley of Egg Harbor Township with just three laps to go. Mike Fulton of Bridgewater, Bobby Baltera of Flemington and Frank Polimeda of Fort Lee completed the top five.
