In order to get the early bumper properly mounted on the front of the car I had to fabricate a front bracket. This part would have to allow the early style bumper flat bar mount fit the body's shock tube mount. My solution was to take a correct diameter pipe for the shock tube rubber isolator, and weld a trimmed stock '71 mount directly into it. This seems to have done the trick, the bumper is secure with the only noticeable problem being with the sides mounted to the fenders being slightly too high. I wanted to avoid making new holes in the fenders so I reused the stock big bumper bellow holes.
