Abbott

This georgeous Maine Coone that was rescued is VERY
unhappy in his new home.
He needs to be in a home with no more than 3 cats & needs LOTS of one on one attention.
His current caretaker does not have papers.
She has a
strict pre-adoption application that she sends out to
potential adopters.
Abbott is UTD on shots, parasite/Flk/FIV neg.
He is 5 years old. Red & White mack. tabby (w/ "M" on forehead)
He weighs aprox. 35lbs. (BIG SWEET GUY!) :-)
The only papers he has is his rabies papers.
He is neutered of course.
He has THE most soulful eyes & the softest meow if he
ever meows at all.
He does not like his back legs or his butt brushed but
will tolerate it. :)
Abbott lived his entire life with his mama & brother
(Chloe & Costello)
He was placed with his current caretaker because the lady of the house is
wheelchair bound
& the husband worked long hours.
She
also had 3 dogs that she had to place as well.
She could
no longer give them any care.
He was severely matted &
was in Fla. foster care for 2 months
& then brought to his current caretaker because she was full.
His current, loving caretaker thought that she would be able to provide a forever
home for this baby when she first recieved his info,
but it
seems that no matter what, he is constatly being bullied
by her other babies.
This has gone on for 4 months & he
is just getting more depressed.
She has tried so much one
on one time with him because it breaks her heart to see
his soulful eyes looking out to me for some kind of
help.
He is so eager to please, as if he's done
something wrong which he hasn't,
& she feels if she finds the
right home for him,
she will cry for days & days on end,
but knows this is best for him.
Amy's Policy:
If you know of anyone in the OH, PA, KY area
that
would be willing to be completely "grilled" by my
pre-adoption application,
agree to periodical follow-ups
& agree that
for any reason they would no longer want
Abbott
he will be returned to me ONLY (stated in final
contract),
please send them my way.

Update -
Heart warming story to follow shortly **VBG**
Please take a moment to meet this precious little girl.
I call her Missy.

Missy showed up on my doorstep approximately 1 month ago.
After contacting my development office and the local shelter
to see if anyone had reported her missing,
I came to realize that she had probably been "abandoned",
when I found that no report had been made.
Missy is very sweet, loving, affectionate and trusting.
My heart breaks to see this special little girl outside.
I am very worried about her. In addition to it being below zero some days,
she is like a naive, trusting little child who doesn't know enough to be afraid of strangers.
Missy looks at all critters as a potential friend.
I live next to a wooded area, from whence comes all manner of threat to her.
On occasion, I have found her sitting next to an oppossum,
once, next to a huge Racoon.
Unfortunately, this little sweetheart was probably someone's pet
and doesn't know enough to be afraid of a possible threat to her wellbeing.

Mr. Missy**blush** - Now Called Jackpot by his forever mom
Finally in out of the cold.

by Francis Witham Oh, what unhappy twist of fate Has brought you homeless to my gate? The gate where once another stood To beg for shelter, warmth and food For from that day I ceased to be The master of my destiny. While he, with purr and velvet paw Became within my house the law. He scratched the furniture and shed And claimed the middle of my bed. He ruled in arrogance and pride And broke my heart the day he died. So if you really think, oh Cat, I'd willingly relive all that Because you come forlorn and thin Well....don't just stand there... Come on in! |
