Well, this has come gone now and was a great success for WHoS. Hopefully, all original, inmate written works can be produced again.
William Head On Stage
theatre society is proud to be celebrating it's nineteenth season with
another first for history. Coming this Spring is Prison Food:
two original works created by inmates at William Head Prison.
Andromeda by Michael King and The Waiting Room
by Ryan Love and Stephen Foote.. It is with fear and excitement that we welcome
you, the press, to come and learn more about our project.
The Waiting Room
An Original Play in One
Act
By: Ryan Love and Stephen Foote
directed by Naomi Simpson
4 men, 2 women
Ben and Duke sit waiting for the decision of a life
time. Their files are under review. Ben is fearful and apprehensive
about the possible result while the cynical and controlling Duke see's the
outcome as inevitable. "People are conditioned by their shitty
experiences to see the worst. That's what gets recorded. So, tell
me, dummy, do you really stand a chance at a favourable outcome, or are you
completely wasting your time?"
Andromeda
An
Original Play in One Act
By: Michael
King
directed by Kenneth Sutherland
2 men, 2
women
Andromeda is a star seldom seen, and is the
symbol behind a love story of two couples who get together for a camping trip on
the rugged West Coast trail of Beautiful British Columbia.
The Four characters, Bob, Josephine, Larry and
Susan, are weary of their marriages and are border-line divorce cases.
They share their joys and disappointments with each other, culminating in
a major shift in perspective. Interspersed with frank and humourous
insights about married life, they rediscover the meaning of love and
commitment.
