One fine Autumn day My heart gave a sigh As it twinged with dismay, Downcast, broken, and just ready to die..
When out of the blue came the sound of trumpets And the alarm blared warning of a British invasion! I heard the sound of cannons shooting and of muskets And then I listened and my heart beat from all this commotion.
The British are Coming! The British Are Coming! was all I heard say And my heart rejoiced on that warm Autumn Day Indeed the British did come my way From the English shores of Oxfordshire Armed with the ammunition of a kind loaded heart All my passion he ignited with his everlasting fire. Now my heart hasn't been quite the same since that British invasion.. It now sings with joy as it flies over the horizon Gladden, so gladden by the British incursion. Now it sings the British Anthem And the British Flag hovers and waves in its new soil Honoring the coming of my Love, so charmingly handsome! My heart pledges alligence to my fine British beau And, oh! This is the Sweetest Love Story you'll ever know!
