"Don't Cry For The Horses"
Brenda Riley-Seymore

Don't cry for the horses
That life has set free
A million white horses
Forever to be

Don't cry for the horses
Now in God's hands
As they dance and they prance
To a heavenly band

They were ours as a gift
But never to keep
As they close their eyes
Forever to sleep

Their spirits unbound
On silver wings they fly
A million white horses
Against the blue sky

Look up into heaven
You'll see them above
The horses we lost
The horses we loved

Manes and tails flowing
They gallop through time
They were never yours
They were never mine

Don't cry for the horses
They will be back someday
When our time has come
They will show us the way

On silver wings they will lift us
To the warmth of the sun
When our life is over
And eternity has begun

We will jump the sun
And dance over the moon
A ballet of horses and riders on the winds
Of a heavenly tune

Do you hear that soft nicker
Close to your ear
Don't cry for the horses
Love the ones that are here

Don't cry for the horses
Lift up your sad eyes
Can't you see them
As they fly by

A million white horses
Free from hunger and pain
Their spirits set free
Until we ride again

"Believe"

that few things compare to the force
of a powerful take-off and the
glory of a perfect landing
that the challenge of
competition is as goo for the
mind as it is for the soul

we believe that trying is as
important as winning
and that you're never too old or too
young to try

that riding isn't just
a hobby, it's a way of life
that best friends sometimes
have fours legs and a nose
that fits just right in the crock
of your neck

we believe that there's no
greater pleasure than a
comfortable saddle on a
well-muscled back
that a sunset ride
is as good for the
mind as it is for the soul

"Iron Horse"
Tina Cocker Bastien

Love came softly
Lowered it's head
I couldn't run away from you
So I reached for you instead

There you stood
Over fifteen hands high
My heart was pounding, I couldn't
breath
I thought I was going to die

Never could I have imagined
Not in my wildest dreams
This place, this horse, this moment
in time
No matter how real it seems

To come face to face with my
fantasy
To once again feel whole
To look into your eyes and realize
The depth of my own soul

As I touched your mane
You stole my heart
I suddenly understood
If anything were to get me out of
this chair
This palomino could

This iron horse beneath me
I had come to know too well
The moment of what put me hear
My private living hell

It didn't seem to matter to you
That I could never walk by your side
As you graze in the meadow or walk
to the barn
After a long days ride

You stood so still, so patiently
As they lifted me out of my chair
I couldn't climb onto your back
by myself
But you didn't seem to care

Priceless is the freedom
God gave to me that day
As I took the reins of this
beautiful gelding
And slowly rode away

If only for a little while
I could forget what had
happened to me
For I had traded in my Iron Horse
for one that would set me
free
