The Draw

Geographical Draw - April 22nd, 2008

The berths were assigned according to the 2006-2007 UEFA Countries Ranking. Clubs from top 8 countries start at Round 3, clubs from countries ranked from 9th through 22nd start at Round 2, and others start at Round 1. Liechtenstein, Andorra, and San Marino do not have berths. However, Andorra is the first substitute.
This year for the first time all countries with berths en ter the competition. There is an existing ban on the Albania, thats why they may be substituted by Andorra if the ban continues.
The nations are distributed to three geographical groups: Southern European Countries - Central and Eastern European Countries - Northern and Western European Countries and the seeded nations are decided.
