Changes to the Cups

Club Licences:
Starting from this year, all the clubs competing in the cups will have to get a UEFA License from their football associations/federations. If the clubs cannot obtain the license, they will not be permitted to join the competitions.
Slovenian clubs SCT VEGA Olimpija Ljubljana, NK Koper, ŠNK Mura Murska Sabota,
Molavian club FC Zimbru Chișinău, and Kazakhstan clubs FK Irtysh Pavlodar, FK Kajrat Almaty, and FK Tobol Kustanaj couldn get their licenses and were replaced or left out.

New Format at UEFA Cup:
UEFA Cup has a semi-league format round staring from this year. The second round will be played in a league format, where each club plays the other clubs in thjeir group only once - either at home or away.
In order to do that, another qualification round is added.

Changes to the UEFA Country and Club Rankings:
The clubs will be awarded 3 bonus points for getting an entry at UCL Group Stage instead of 1.
The clubs qualifying for the Knock-Out Round at UCL will be awarded 1 bonus point instead of 0.
Previously the clubs were ranked according to the points they gathered after the qualification rounds, adding the half of their country coefficient ratio to it. Starting from this only 33% of the country coefficient ratios will be added. The seeding of the cups are done already using this change.
