HAIKUS
In case you don't know what a haiku is, look it up. I don't have time to explain things to you people. ANYWAY!!! Because of the structure and strict rules and disciplines used when writing a haiku, I tend to stay away from them. Things that limit me, do just that. I don't like limits when it comes to my writing. Nonetheless, there come times when I feel a haiku is the perfect way to convey a set feeling or idea. Normally, the results take some time to edit and go over so I can get that feeling, but still stay within the strict 17 syllable rule. Most of the time, the results are delightful, and I hope you reach the same conclusion.
It takes only one seed of truth
to plant
an entire forest of lies.
A great good
can only be counter balanced
with an awesome evil.
Man did not inherit the Earth,
we only stole it
from God's creatures.
The only stupid mistake we make
is thinking
we can't make any.
Only within the shadows of darkness
do the
truths of existence lay.
A single kiss can equal
a thousand images
of hope and love
Take not the passion from my heart
but the
treacherous lies from my lips.
And if I should die before I sleep,
I know the lord
my soul won't keep.
