Death in Antigone

Antigone by Sophocles, is the third story in his Oedipus Cycle.  In it, Antigone, the heroine, stands up for a brother (demanding that he be buried so that his soul can make it to the afterlife), and is punished for it by being buried alive. This, in turn, destroys the rest of the family.

Due to the nature of the story, death shows up a lot.  ; )  Antigone’s burial, despite being a tad unusual, is described, as is that of her brother.  It’s also brought up that as Antigone is unmarried that her bridegroom will now be death. Sort of interesting, anyway.
