I have a keen interest in a broad spectrum of areas. I am very keen on team sports such as soccer, athletics and two person games such as table tennis. I enjoy photography, art and general do-it-yourself home work, car mechanics, electronic project building, scientific reading and computer programming. I am also interested in world political and environmental issues. I thoroughly enjoy travel and learning new cultures and languages. I am very fluent in three major languages, namely: English, Portuguese and French. I also enjoy learning new problem-solving strategies, such as the creative problem solving techniques, memory improvement techniques, and techniques for improving reading speed.
I feel I communicate my ideas well and am very receptive to others’ views and comments. I work very well in team project work and have a strong sense of initiative and self discipline to carry work autonomously. I am innovative in problem solving and relish the opportunity. I also possess a good sense of humour and have a very positive outlook which has helped me encourage others during difficult periods. My career objectives are to make positive contributions to teaching, scientific research and technological advancement, continuing to gain a sense of personal achievement whilst working towards positions of greater responsibility.
