Academic Background

Jan. 1989 a Nov. 1992: Ph.D.Computer Science - University of Wales - Gt. Britain

Research Area: Relational Multidatabase Systems - the research investigated ways of accessing and integrating the knowledge content of multiple relational databases (relational multidatabases) and presenting this knowledge to the end-user in order to facilitate interaction with these systems. Tools were developed for exploiting both the structural and semantic integrity constraints of these databases.

1987 to 1988: M.Sc. -Systems Engineering - University of Wales.

Option taken: Information Systems. Main Courses: Systems behaviour, system maths, automatic test systems, digital systems, instrumentation and measurement, software engineering, data/information systems, management information systems, intelligent image processing with Prolog.

Topic of M.Sc. Dissertation: The Design of a Lighting Advisor - an expert system to advise on the lighting requirements for different objects for the capture of best images used in automatic processing and inspection in a production line.
