Dear Raiders Family or Supporter,
On behalf of the Long Valley Raiders Football Hall of Fame, we are
pleased to announce that this year’s Beefsteak will be held on Saturday,
March 22, 2003 starting at 6:30 PM, at the Chester Firehouse.
The induction’s last year proved to be a wonderful event. We are proud to have
started the Hall of Fame, in view of the many outstanding people who have
founded, developed, and made the Raiders the organization it is today. This
year we will recognize and induct six of these truly outstanding individuals.
We are delighted to announce that the 2003 Long Valley Raiders Hall of Fame
inductees are; Dennis Murray, Matt Slowinski, Tommy Mottola, Toby Barkman, Jr.,
Chuck Grom and Dan Wydner.
This particular group encompasses two former coaches who were involved
in the founding of the Raiders Association, as well as four players who had
great Raider careers; as well as careers with the Wolfpack. Their induction
into the Long Valley Raiders Hall of Fame will bring the number of members to
22 since the Hall of Fame began three years ago.
The
dinner will also feature a printed program complete with a biography for each
of the inductees, an agenda, as well as ads from various businesses, family and
friends. I hope your schedule will permit you to be with us on what will be a
memorable evening for all Raiders associates, past and present. Along with the
dinner, there will be a fund raising Tricky Tray and Silent Auction. The
auction will offer an opportunity to bid on various items of sports
memorabilia.
Enclosed you will find a ticket reservation/program form for the dinner.
Your support of this dinner and our fund raising activities, allows us to
defray the rising cost of running the program for the current day Raiders. You
may purchase your tickets now by filling out the ticket reservation form and
returning it to the address identified on the form. This will provide us with
an accurate count of people planning on attending the event. You may also purchase tickets at the door
that evening. If you choose to purchase your tickets that evening, we would ask
that you contact your child’s head coach from last year with the number of
people you plan to bring to the dinner that evening. We thank you in advance
for your support and participation in this year’s Beefsteak and Hall of Fame
Dinner.
