We met in 1995 through a mutual friend, Billy (who was our best man) at the local firehouse, where both Bob and Bill are volunteers. Although, at that time we had significant others, that didn't stop either one of us from having a crush on each other.
In 1997, two years later, that crush came alive.
Bill called Janine to come down and hang out at the firehouse and so she did. When she found out that Bob had broken up with his girlfriend (Janine broke up with her boyfriend in 96') and was interested in her, their journey began.
It took a month of begging and pleading for Bob to get Janine to go out with him but he succeeded on July 11th, 1997. Bob pulled Janine into the bay's (where they keep the fire trucks) got down on one knee and asked her out. She said yes!
Bob had contemplated what would be the most romantic way to propose, but then realized that he couldn't get more romantic then proposing at the firehouse where their whole relationship started.
Bob got down on one knee (in the same spot where he asked her out) presenting to her the most beautiful 1/2ct. Heart shaped diamond solitaire with a sapphire and diamond wrap sauntered to it and asked Janine to marry him on October 13th, 1997. She said YES!
Of course Janine's parents weren't too thrilled about it when they learned there is a fourteen-year age gap between the two, things got harder. It took two months of fights and arguments before it was given a chance. But they got to know Bob and realized he really is a great guy and really did love Janine and they were so happy together - "made for each other."
After 8 months of grueling and continuous planning...
Finally Janine and Bob were married on August 29th, 1998 one year later (approximately)
