VICTOR COMSTOCK, "Vic", "The Man With Nine Lives"
HIS POSITION: Station Manager, Director, Sophisticate, Creator
Remember WENN hasn't been quite the same since WENN's adventurous original station manager reappeared one night after being presumed dead. Victor's not only station manager but also the geninus behind many of the station's best shows. He's a suave and intellegent man who counts radio and patriotism above all else. He returned to Pittsburgh under Nazi mind control, but he now seems to be ready to take charge of WENN's new Armed Forces Branch. Scott, however, arranged for him to run the new branch in London. It's Betty's choice. Who will go and who will stay? Who does Betty love as a lover...and who does she love as a friend?
SCOTT SHERWOOD,"The Rogue", "The Con Artist", "Scotty"
HIS POSITION: Performer, Con Artist, Occasional Station Manager
Scott breezed into the control room not long after Victor's departure from WENN with a story that Vic had sent him to take over as WENN's station manager. Scotty eventually befriended the rest of the station's cast and crew and fell hard for Betty, who began to have feelings for him as well. Abrasive and brash, he and Betty complimented each other perfectly; he got them into outrageous situations and she got them out of outrageous situations. Scott's run of luck lasted until the early third season, when reappearances by the noble Victor Comstock and the evil Rollie Pruitt sealed his fate and stripped him of his station manager job - and Betty's love and trust. Fear not, my friends: unable to leave the place that had become his home (or the woman he loved, sigh), Scott returned as an actor when Jeff Singer went to London and stayed on to replace Mackie as well. He enlisted in the Army at the end of the fourth season and will thrust himself into combat or go to London...if Betty doesn't want him...
HILARY BOOTH,"The Diva", "The Prima Donna Supreme", "Hildy", "Mittens"
HER POSITION:Performer, Ex-Wife, Lady of Many Acting Credits
Hilary Booth is the first lady of acting at WENN, and don't you forget it! Once a star on Broadway (she loves to rave about her "Broadway triumphs") she now appears primarly on radio at WENN. She had been divorced from her young husband Jeffrey Singer and the two quarreled constantly. It wasn't until Jeff almost died in the London bombings that she realized how much he meant to her. When he returned to the States, they re-consumated their marriage vows and became WENN's most loving couple. Jeff eventually went back to London, which didn't delight his wife. A woman arrived at WENN claiming to be Jeff's legal wife not long after Jeff's departure, which, as you can imagine, didn't thrill Hilary either. As it turned out, the woman was a spy who had blackmailed Jeff with Victor's life in order to gain entrance into the United States. Hilary had her own bombshell to drop in the fourth season finale (after Jeff had spent 12 episodes trying to get an annulment); she's married to someone else!
JEFFREY SINGER, "Jeff", "The Leading Man", "Pumpkin", "Jeffy"
HIS POSITION: Performer, Ex-Husband, Leading Man
Jeff alternated his romantic roles with bickering sessions with his sort-of wife until Victor called him to London at the end of the first season. Hilary was never happier than when he lived through the bombings. Their happiness, as I mentioned above, was short-lived; Jeff returned to London early in season three. Jeff was Victor's contact; he had tried to send her a note to warn her of Pavla's treachery, but "The Czechoslovacian Tart" spitefuly changed it. Jeff recieved a double blow in the 4th season finale; he was listed as 4-F and Hilary told him that she couldn't marry him because she was already married...to someone else. Will the course of true love ever run (fairly) smooth for Mr. and Mrs. Singer?
MACKIE BLOOM, "The Man of 1,000 Voices", "The Vagabond"
HIS POSITION: Performer, Character Actor
Mackie is WENN's most versitile actor; he's portrayed everything from romantic leads to villians. He consideres himself something of a father figure to Betty and Hilary and seems to have an interest in Maple LaMarsh for a while. He seems to have been something of an adventurer in his youth and several women have already claimed his alliegience. All Mackie really wants to show is that he can still be suave and romantic. He's a little superstitious and a bit of a coward. He returned from his tour ready to resume his old roles and his place as king of character actors.
MAPLE LAMARSH, "The Chorus Doll", "The Floozy", "Mapes"
HER POSITION: Performer, Occasional Organist, Dispenser of Romantic Advise
Maple replaced Eugenia as the organist when Eugenia took up the night shift but switched to acting when the late night show was cancelled. A former stripper from the Crimson Follies, Maple is the station's sexiest female, and she's not afraid to let every man who comes in know it. She spouts advice on dealing with love to other WENN cast and crew members and the fellows treat her like one of their own. She's a loyal friend, though not too bright on occasion. She might have had a relationship with Scott at one time but they're currently close friends.
EUGENIA BREMER, "The Organ Lady", "Queen of the Musical Notes"
HER POSITION: Organist, Occasional Performer
Eugenia is probably the nicest person at the station (although she's a bit cranky before she's had her first cup of coffee). She is sweet and sincere, the only person you can count on not to start a fight (at least before her morning cup of coffee). She "popped the question" to Mr. Foley in the fourth season finale and he has yet to respond. Could we be hearing wedding bells for the queen of music and the king of silence?
MR. FOLEY, "The Man Who Doesn't Talk"; "The Silent Sound Effects Man"
HIS POSITION: Sound Effects Man, Silent Man
Mr. Foley is one of WENN's biggest - and - funniest mysteries. He's also one of its longest-running gags. He hasn't spoken once on-camera since Remember WENN began. Apparently, it's not that he can't talk - the others claim he's a chatterbox! - but that he's either interrupted or changes his mind. However, because he doesn't speak, all we know about him is that he really likes pizza, his brother's a pain in the behind, and no one has the slightest idea of what his first name is. He was rejected from active military duty due to his flat feet. He flag-coded his love for Eugenia to her. Will he say yes (or at least nod his head yes) to her request that he consider marrying her?
GERTRUDE REECE, "Gertie", "Gertrudios"
HER POSITION: Switchboard Operator, Receptionist, Secretary, Gossip
If you ever need to know what's going on at WENN, just ask Gertie Reece, the switchboard operator and the owner of WENN's gossipiest mouth. She has an opinion on everything from Betty's quandary with men to why Hilary ditched Jeff (again) or vice versa. Her sarcastic one-liners help to keep everyone firmly on Earth, but she's a romantic at heart. She enjoys what I gather to be a long-running relationship with Mr. Eldridge and an even longer battle of wits with Hilary, who is convinced that Gertie was put on this planet to serve her.
TOM ELDRIDGE, "The Old Man", "Good Ol' Eldridge"
HIS POSITION: Go-Fer, Janitor, Dispenser of Illogical Logic, Owner and Cheif Stockholder of WENEnterprises
It took three and a half seasons, but we finally discovered what Mr. Eldridge's job is at the station; he runs all the errands that no one else has the time or desire to do. Though he seems slightly senile and rather dotty, he's really very kind and there are times when some of his advice actually makes sense. He also appears to be fond of Gertie, or at least to have known her for a long time. He used his lottery winnings to secretly purchase the controlling block of stock in WENN and is currently the station's owner.
CJ MCHUGH, "The Engineer", "The Ghost of WENN", "The King of the Microphones"
HIS POSITION: Former Engineer
C.J didn't get much in the way of attention until the third season, when we began to see a side of a man who had mostly been confined to one-liners and keeping the technical aspects of WENN up and running. Unfortuantly, AMC didn't re-hire the actor who portrayed him (who also happens to be named CJ). The former engineer seems to have mysteriously disappeared...
CELIA MELLON, "The Ingeune", "The Blonde", "The Movie Girl"
HER POSTION: Performer, Ingeune, Movie Star
Celia turned up in the second episode of the first season and immediatly became WENN's own absent-minded blonde, a dizzy contrast to level-headed Betty. She claimed to be part of the wealthy Mellon (with two ll's) family when she first auditioned for WENN, but as it turned out, she had merely been their parlormaid. Her time with them had made her determined to better herself, no matter how she had to do it. Jeff had a crush on her and often made passes at her. As you can imagine, she wasn't one of Hilary's favorite people. Hildy was probably very happy when Celia's real dream - to go to Hollywood - finally came true. She moved to California to become a movie star early in the second season and hasn't appeared at the station (or on Remember WENN) since, though she has been mentioned many times.
DOUG THOMPSON, "The Lawyer"
HIS POSITION: Station Lawyer, Loyal Confidant
Poor Doug. He adores Betty almost as much as Scott and Victor and asks her to go out with him on the rare occasions that he's around. As with Scott, the fact that she always turns him down doesn't deter his asking again. His last appearance was at the end of the third season, when he gave Betty the go-ahead to open the strongbox. Like Celia, he has been mentioned several times since then.
LESTER, "The Night Engineer"
HIS POSITION: Engineer
Lester replaced C.J at the beginning of the fourth season. Not much is know about him other than he seems to do his job well and, according to C.J, he's something of a ladies' man.
The Remember WENN cast:
Amanda Naughton - Betty Roberts

Kevin O'Rourke - Scott Sherwood
