Annual GVC Reunion in Planning Stage
By default, the date is Friday, October 4th, 2002 and the place is Coastline, in Cherry Hill. Recent mumblings indicate attendance has been declining and a more desirable location would be preferred. If you have any suggestions or would like to help in the planning please contact Ruthann or me.
Site to be updated
It's been a while and is definitely time for a make-over...new features will include password protected access, more user friendly message board, new email service and optional listing of personal info database (name, address, phone number, "What I'm now doing, etc.). I hope you will like it - just remember this is a sole volunteer effort - so your patience and support would be greatly appreciated. If you have any suggestions or would like to help out please let me know via email. Thanks Barbara Wells
Remember your first time
You're surfing the net, maybe for something in particular or maybe just seeing what's out there. And then, it happens...you glance at the clock and discover what you thought was a few minutes was actually HOURS online.
Here's a list of my favorite "time bandit" sites:
- To any BEATLE fans out there, if you haven't seen it yet, check out The Official Beatles Website. The real fun is the "Special feature" link for each song. Anything and everything a Beatle fan could want!
- ZDNet -anything and everything you could possibly want to know about computer hardware, software, and the internet. (It would be possible to get lost on their site for days at a time!) One of their latest features is MyUpdates -a FREE service that searches your PC for software that needs updating and then provides the direct links for downloading. (No more excuses for those outdated versions of browsers!)
- AltaVista Translator -Translate individual words or phrases or an entire web page to or from English and Spanish, Italian, German, French or Portuguese
- Exhibit Hall of the National Archives and Records Administration -Multimedia displays of all aspects of American History. This is NOT like your high school history book and since your tax dollars are paying for it, check it out! Topics range from the "Constitution" to "When Nixon Met Elvis".
- Gamesville Now, more than just bingo with cash prizes up to $25,000.00! Sometimes I open a second window to play while waiting for a download elsewhere.
