This is how I find the Andromeda Galaxy without a problem. Instead of looking a confusing chart with hundreds of stars. I simply look at the bright ones and guild myself from there. Try Picturing only theses stars when you go outside to look for it. maybe even print this chart to take outside with you. Ok , First of all located Pegasus in the sky. It's easy insead of looking like the big dipper it looks like a sause pan. Now follow the lines through the Andromeda consellation. ( the stars are narrow at the top then opens up at the bottom). There are 3 sets of stars in pairs. (the top closest together and the bottom furthest apart). Located the second pair of stars (the one in between the other 2) looking through your binoculars at those 2 stars. go to your west (left) doing under Pegasus. and you will see another star that is very dim. (using my finderscope will revell that dim star and the Galaxy in the same field of view) moving slightly west will lie the Andromeda Galaxy. If your binoculars are semi-good then the Galaxy should show without a problem. it is about the size of a full moon but dimmer. it looks like a patch of fog in the sky. ever so slightly dimmer then M 42 about the same size. (to my eyes at least) or look for it around that dim star with your C-5 with a the lowest powered eyepiece you have. after finding it center it and use a more powerful eyepiece but not to powerful. I recommend anything between 20 to 10 mm eyepieces. Well, I hope these steps help you in finding the Andromeda Galaxy. Richie
