The Home Front
Elections! - The word on everyone's lips is "who is going to be the next President?" And Bayshore is no different. Election of new officers will take place at the next meeting. The difference will be, Bayshore members will know who is to be President, as soon as the polls close.
I wonder if NASCAR's influence hasn't gotten into the political scene and in the spirit of competition, they have tried to tighten up the presidential race? Here it is the white flag lap and two guys are running fender to fender in a race to close to call. It's a great race!
And for the first time in history, we will know who is to blame! We can blame the voters in Florida for the state of affairs for the next four years.
At any rate, in the good old Bayshore tradition, "Vote Early and Often".
Pocono was a huge success! A sold out event! If you want to be a part of Pocono 2001 consider signing up NOW before it is again SOLD OUT!
Kevin Johnson wrote an article about Pocono 2000 that is now posted, with pictures on the Internet. For anyone who missed the write up or the pictures, check it out. |
Gardella Racing
The racing season for Gardella Racing is over, or at least the Wall Stadium Points Race portion is over. Bryan ended the Wall season with a fourth place finish in the final points race. This was enough to give him a third place over all in the Legend Car class. A very nice finish in his first full season of Legend Car competition.
Check out October 7, The Season Finale, to get the full story.
The next Wall Stadium race will be the traditional Turkey Derby, the weekend after Thanksgiving. I'll miss that, because I will be in Florida to have Thanksgiving dinner with my twins, Michael & Mark.
The next race for Gardella Racing will be the World Finals, December 27 - 30, held at Hardeeville Speedway in Hardeeville, South Carolina. This has the earmarks of being a BIG RACE.
The race is limited to the first 200 entrants. And if you make it thru all the tech inspections, qualifying, heat races, the preliminary feature races, and do manage to start the main feature, you are guaranteed of at least $1000 in prize money, with first place paying out $15,000.
Yes, 15K, that is no miss print! This will be the first big away race for Bryan & Gardella Racing and at a level of competition we have never experienced before. It should be a hell of a trip! |
NECC Lime Rock
As some of you already know, Lime Rock will be on a Saturday, but not the traditional date in August. The new date is July 7, 2001. While the track has not as yet finalized the 2001 schedule, it looks like the July 7th date will stand.
The NECC is also looking into the possibilities of running a second event at another racetrack. A Pennsylvania site, Rausch Creek, located at the intersection of I81 & Rt 209, is being explored.
Remember that Lime Rock was sold out in 2000, so contact John Ryall for information about Lime Rock 2001. Northeast Corvair Council (NECC) c/o John Ryall 14 Cleveland Avenue Milford, CT 06460-4109
