Kittens
Kittens
It takes a pregant female cat 65 until she gives birth. When kittens ae born
they are blind and deaf. They also can't walk. They are completely helpless.
A mother will hide her kittens if she's outside in a good spot where nobody
can hurt them. The average amount of kittens is four. When their about 1 week
old they start to see and hear. A little bit after they learn to hear and see
they start to walk. They crawl a little, but in a week or so they'll start to
run. If you want a litter of nice and loveable kittens it's good to find them
before they can walk(I've learned after seeing kittens that are totally scared
of humans). It is good not to handle a kitten the day it's born, but it won't
hurt it any(we held Bootz when he was 1 hour old). If it's the mothers first time
having kittens then watch her closely. She might sit on them and that could
injure them.
If you're planing to give the kittens any the best time is when they are 8 weeks old.
First make sure the mother is at least trying to wean the kittens. If she
isn't give them some hard food. When they learn to eat it, and start to drink water
they are probably ready to get given away. After about 5 days they'll forget they're
brothers and sister. If you decide to put them together again they'll probably
hiss and fight, but they'll probably will start to remember each other. They'll
probably already remember their mom, but they might not. If you're planning to
keep the kittens you can let them stay with their mom as long as she wants.
Just make sure after awhile they stop nursing. After they stop nursing they'll still
probably have a mother son/daughter bond together(for example: Bootz and his mom
have a bond as strong as ever, but he doesn't nurse anymore).
