Ah, invasions. Such a wonderful thing, when all of Elanthia comes together to fight back the evil that seems to be overwhelming us at every moment. The people swarm from town and are immediately cut down in the first swathe of invaders. Why, you ask? Because the gods think it funny to rain down monsters old enough to kill themselves. How great is it that while the old generations get to go out and play in all the fun while those of us less than legendary must sit around and wait for the danger to pass? Funny, I thought the lands were for everyone to enjoy each in their own way, but if I can't leave town for fear of dying at every turn, I tend to become a little angry.
Then there are those who think that constantly ewaving, or calling wind, or even meteors will help the cause, or make the people bow before them in gratitude that it was they who quelled the uprising of evil. I've always been an advocate of using your spells when, where, and how you want, but there must be such a thing as common sense. Apparently elder wizards lack such things as they cast Meteor Swarm over the hobgoblin village, quieting effectively everything in that area during an upscale invasion last night. Funny that he got his arse run out of town on a rail when it was all done.
Is it just me, or does idiocy run rampant amongst our people? Will the generations following us be stupider than those we have now? Dear Koar, I hope it's not so, for if it is, I'm packing my bags and heading to Pinefar.

Ambushers. So fascinating that they can stalk and hide from a target then leap and kill in a single hit. Truly an evolved art form, mastered to a precise exaction of the killing stroke.
So stop whining when your prey is killed while in hiding. If you're not fast enough to kill it or signal to us that you're in the room before we make it our own prey, too damned bad. It's the chance you take when you enter hiding.
It happens, and we're not the ones who have to apologize for it. You can yell and scream and jump up and down all you want, we're just going to move on and find something else to kill. You can stalk and steal all you want, your kill is still dead so suck it up and find a new one.

For those of you ambushers who've made your art your life, and can deal with this easily, I applaud you. Your finess with a weapon is unmatched by those who swing regularly. Though it's not magic, it's a close second in my opinion.

Ah, the 'innocence' of youth. A time when you can get away with pretty much anything. Yelling, begging for spells, hell, even trying to pickpocket. All this under the pretense of 'I'm young, I don't know any better.'
I've got some news for you, you little snert. If I see your hands in my pockets, or your tone offends me, I'm only going to ask you once. Next time, you're stunned. I don't care who you're older brother is, or that you're friends with a Legend. Learn to pick and win your own battles. Don't like it? Tough.
This may seem overly cynical, but I'm tired of giving younger ones a second chance when they overly don't deserve one. 'Well, don't you remember when YOU were young?' Of course I do, you twit. When I acted out of line (if I ever did at all) I was promptly put in my place. At the time I hated bastards like that, but now I look back and see the logic in their actions.
Idiocy equals pain. How simple, how easy to remember. I act like a fool, I get treated like one. Hurrah, suddenly two plus two makes four again, and everyone else is happy.
I've actually been talked to by a 'god' for correcting a younger person. I won't mention who, Andraste, but the fact that they would interfere into matters they knew nothing about just makes me wish they were young again so they could learn what the blunt end of acting like a moron felt like.

Bottom line: You see someone acting like an ass, Thump, Bind, Silence, Web, Sleep, Stun and Curse. These are your friends in the war against snerts.
My two silvers. Don't like it, shut up.
