As you have seen in previous pages, the St. Pierre family has come a long way over a long period of time. As far back in time as we can go, we learn that our family left France after the French and Indian War, and settled in Canada, namely, in French Quebec. So we have sailed the oceans, settled in a strange new land, and have seen wars, and many hardships. But yet here we are. I am proud of the St. Pierre/Levesque/Lemieux blood that courses through my veins. We are a family of strong resolve. Our determination and "stick-to-it-iveness" has been demonstrated again and again to me in the lives of those of my ancestors and family members whom I have had the priviledge of knowing or learning about.

Of course, the St. Pierre family is continually growing and evolving, and occasionally, one of us passes on to the other side. So it is a difficult thing to speak of the family "today", as it seems to change every other day.

For some time it seemed that there was always a wedding coming around the corner. Then, a time followed where it seemed the only time we got to see each other was when a funeral would come. And for some time, it seemed that they were getting closer and closer in time. That is what made this past family reunion such a wonderful event. It was great to come together under different circumstances. Weddings are always joyful affairs, but the funerals, though they are an opportunity to show our love and support, don't provide a suitable atmosphere to sit and share our lives as we just did. Regretfully, five hours just wasn't enough time for such a large family to get reacquainted, and reminisce. Yet, it was a precious time to yours truly. I will always treasure the memory of this day. And God willing, we'll add to the number of such days before we are all called out of this world.

What was of special interest at the reunion is the number of children who were present. It is great to see how the family is growing!

Throughout the day on Saturday, my mind turned to Memere. How she would have loved to have been there with us all. And I know in my heart of hearts that though absent in the flesh, she certainly was with us in spirit. I know that this day was special, not only on earth, but also in heaven.

After getting my pictures back from the developer, I couldn't help but wonder what Memere's reaction was to what I call "Saturday Afternoon Fever". Well, here, let me share it with you, and you can wonder for yourself...Please be patient, it may take a few moments for this photo to download.

During this reunion, it seemed that many felt we should do this more often. And on that note, we all know that planning this event and making all of the arrangements was an enourmous undertaking. And once again, our thanks to Jillian, Donna and Louise for all of their hard work. I'm willing to get involved with the planning and arragements for the next one. I'm hopeful that this website will be a hub for communication within the family, and that we can continue to share our lives and deepen the strong bonds of the St. Pierre clans.
With love, God bless.
