Here is what I do know about
Psychotrophic Drugs

America and Canada consumes 90% of the worlds Ritalin, anti-depressants, psychotrophic and SSRI drugs. The reason for this is that no other country buys the ADHD diagnosis, or the harmful drugs that "supposedly" cure the disorder and depressions. I guess they haven't been flooded with millions of $$'s from pharmaceutical manufacturing companies like Pfizer (maker of Zoloft), Glaxo Smithkline (maker of paxil) Novartis (maker of Ritalin) and Eli Lilly (maker of Prozac), who have a vested interest in peddling their drugs. Fifty percent of the medical establishment denies the existence of ADHD, the use of drugs to cure it, and the use of SSRI drugs to combat depression.

I know that Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as it is now called, is NOT a Disease. ADD/ADHD diagnosis was developed specifically for the purpose of justifying the use of drugs to subdue the behaviors of children in the classroom. This is confirmed by a 1994 Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders of the American Psychiatric Association which shows that "..it is specifically aimed at suppressing unwanted behaviors in the classroom." To put it bluntly, the disorder was MANUFACTURED to control children, not to combat a REAL disorder.

No one dies from ADHD, because it doesn't progress as EVERY other disease in the world does, with the exception of natural infections.

Alzheimer’s disease, to pick an example, gets steadily worse over time, and we have to plan for that eventuality. This is not the case with ADHD. The right teacher, the right school, the right summer camp, or the right career can have a dramatic and profound effect, turning what was a problem into a gift. A nature lover, for example, who couldn't stand being cooped up in a classroom, could become a wilderness guide, leading his or her field in a whole host of important findings.

I know that ADHD doesn't worsen if untreated. Almost by definition, with the exception of a few self-limiting infections, untreated diseases will worsen or cause obvious complications if left alone. This is true for cancer, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and the whole host of illnesses that would bring a person to a doctor.

I know that ADHD patients have no medical complaints. No one wakes up and says, "I feel horrible today. I'm not going to school. My ADHD is killing me." No one asks to go to the nurse because his or her ADHD is acting up. ADHD children are sent to the school nurse because they are of concern to OTHERS. They don't complain of not feeling well, though if we stop to listen we will hear complaints: they complain of being bored in school.

I know that according to Massachusetts's Dr. Ron Schneebaum, a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, "No laboratory tests of any sort aid in the diagnosis of ADHD. Detailed examination of any of the body’s fluids show no abnormalities."

This fact is confirmed by both the NIH Consensus Development Conference (1998) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (2000) report on ADHD that stated that "..there is no known biological basis for ADHD. Any brain abnormalities in these children are almost certainly caused by prior exposure to psychiatric medication." While Advocates of ADHD and stimulant drugs continue to claimed that ADHD is associated with changes in the brain.

During a conversation with a friend about a year ago pertaining to this topic, he stated that successful evidence of these types of drugs on trouble teenage girls were confirmed by his experience at the harbor Schools. The Harbor School he worked at was a school for troubled teenaged girls. Girls suffered from being raped, sexually molested, drug abuse, child abuse, etc., etc. I know that the problems of these girls were not the result from a lack of Prozac or Ritalin in the chemical composition that make up their brain, but were the result of the trauma associated with the abuse itself. Prozac, Ritalin, etc., masks the problem, giving a false high. That high keeps these individual from doing the painstakingly long work necessary to find real and lasting healing.

How do I know that these drugs mask problems? Maybe because Ritalin, a methylphenidate, and its clones have the same chemical composite as COCAINE. These drugs are even more potent. Prozac and its clones have the same effect as LSD. Think I would be feeling pretty good if someone prescribed cocaine and LSD to me every day? Think I would forget any abuse if I were drugged out on LSD and cocaine every day?

I know that 70% of all mass murders in this country are preformed by individuals on Prozac and their clones. These would including Eric Harris (Luvox) of Columbine fame, the Wakefield Massachusetts man who killed 5 of his colleagues, the Georgia Daytrader who hammered his wife and three year old son to death before killing his fellow workers and the Texas woman who drowned all five of her children. Pfizer, Glaxo Smithkline, Eli Lilly, Novartis and other drug manufacturing companies have over 1000 lawsuits against them, because of their failure to disclose side effects and for making false statements regarding the effectiveness of their products.

I know that the American Psychiatric Association describes a hyperactive child - the target child for the drugs Ritalin, Adderall, Dexedrine and DextroStat, Desoxyn and Gradumet, and Cylert - based on VERY subjective symptoms:

"One who exhibits behavior such as fidgeting, squirming, answering questions before being called on, difficulty playing quietly, engaging in physically dangerous activities such as running into the street without looking, or one who has difficulty following instructions." I ask what child doesn't fit these descriptions? Sounds like typical childhood to me.

All of these symptoms have been "cured" by change of school, change of teacher, change of seat, Feingold diet, homeopathy, craniosacral therapy, social skills training, family counseling, remarriage, different approaches to parenting and discipline, prayer, hypnosis, visualization, magnets, biofeedback, inner ear retraining with high frequency sounds, and acupuncture.

As Dr. Ann Blake Tracy states while talking about Prozac and their clones:

"We know these drugs interfere with serotonin metabolism. It is not serotonin that is low in these disorders. It is the byproduct 5HIAA, which indicates the level of serotonin metabolism, that is low in depression, suicide, etc.

Yet as serotonin (5HT) goes up, serotonin metabolism (5HIAA) generally comes down. We already have studies demonstrating at what percentage each of these drugs increase 5HT and decrease 5HIAA. Now let's look at the results, first of elevated levels of serotonin (5HT), and second. the results of decreased levels of serotonin metabolism (5HIAA).

Elevated 5HT (serotonin) levels are evidenced by:

· schizophrenia, psychosis, mania
· mood disorders like depression and anxiety
· organic brain disease -- especially mental retardation at a greater incident rate in children
· autism (a self-centered or self-focused mental state with no basis in reality)
· Alzheimer's disease
· old age
· anorexia
· constriction of the blood vessels
· blood clotting
· constriction of bronchioles and other physical effects

These are the kind of results you referenced earlier. With lower 51HIAA (serotonin metabolism) levels:

· suicide, especially violent suicide
· arson
· violent crime
· insomnia
· depression
· alcohol abuse
· impulsive acts with no concern for punishment
· reckless driving
· dependence upon various substances
· bulimia
· multiple suicide attempts
· hostility and more contact with police
· exhibitionism
· arguments with spouses, friends and relatives
· obsessive compulsive behavior
· impaired employment due to hostility"

All this is exactly what patients and their families have continued to report to be their experience on these drugs since these drugs were introduced!
