Riverside Speedway To Close
Riverside Park Officials said Thursday that this would be the final season of auto racing at the park. There are plans to redevelop the speedway area and incorporate it into the main theme park beginning in 2000.
Tim Black, the general manager at Riverside said "as we continue to analyze ways to improve our main theme park guests overall experience, it became clear that we needed to incorporate the track area into the main park beginning next year". The Kaptain has ben quoted as "Fuck you you fuckin' fuck".
Bottom line, money killed another small time track a la the Danbury Fair Racearena & Plainville Stadium. One can't help but think that Waterford's days are numbered. Arute up at Stafford must love all this...
