POKeMON 101

POKeMON has been around in Japan for three or so years, but it has only recently arrived in the States! If you've here, you've undoubtably heard of POKeMON from someone. This little area will help you learn what POKeMON is about. And, after you're done here, explore the rest of the site! ^_^

POKeMON the TV show, videogame, and comic book are all about a boy named Ash, who wants to collect all the POKeMON of the world. In the show, Ash is given, by Prof. Oak, Pikachu for a POKeMON, to start him off. Ash and Pikachu become great friends. Along his travels, he gains companions Misty and Brock, and he has to fend off the evil team Rocket's Jesse and James. Ash also has a rival, Gary, but he doesn't really appear much in the show.

In the game, Ash's quest is the same, but he goes about it differently. He starts with either Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur. He battles Misty and Brock. He never meets Jesse and James, but he does meet other Team Rocket. Gary, Ash's rival, plays a much bigger part in the game. Gary challenges Ash every once in while to see how you are doing. He also plays a big part in the end of the game.
