The beams of light from heaven did play And laid their warmth upon my breast. My mind and soul and heart at rest, As I looked upon the fields of hay. The distant mountains clothed in purple and grey Their mighty peaks shined forth like golden crowns And to all who could see they seemed to say, 'Be at peace, carry ne'er a frown". My spirit leapt forth in this moment of joyful play In this time and in this place I could forever stay Far from the trials of daily strife and fray, For here was a testament of God's mighty way.
