The creation of harmony depends upon each of those involved fulfilling his function, attending to his responsibilities. Only then does purposeful, mutual work shape a familylike atmosphere. Words mean little unless they are supported by complementary action that forges common bonds. Then the words have reality and truth in them. |

But make for ever the companionableness, so that there may ever be the seeking by the developing mind for counsel, for guidance; and for the answering of why the thoughts arise under various circumstances as to conditions in the physical body, the physical relationships, the mental activities and the mental reactions. For to keep such is to give and to be in the position of fulfilling the purposes whereunto one is dependent upon the other. For it is a unison of desire that brings a seeking at any time for expression, and not in combative reactions at all! For when there is the combative self-assertion, egotism and selfishness rise to the forefront as that ordinarily known as self-protection—which is a first law. But as long as there is kept that unison, correct—as long as there is that great activity which all should know. If the world will ever know its best, it must learn cooperation! 759-13 (Q) Is there anything I can do to bring about a more friendly relationship between my parents and myself and family? (A) This condition enters into many varying relationships. The causes which are to some unreasonable; to others of a very definite nature. That which is to the body, individual, an irritation, may be overcome. That as is held as animosity in the eyes of others must be overcome within themselves. Satisfy self that the proper attitude is being taken by self as regarding the relationships, considering that others have the right of their opinion as well as self, and an amiable condition may be arrived at, one more satisfactory than existent at present. Yet, as to what the actions of others are may not be governed by the individual, other than self’s own action as respecting same. 2744-2 As has been given of old, "Take that thou hast in hand." Use same day by day. And as that ye use, as that ye know is applied in those directions, those principles as indicated, in the home, in the daily labors, in the daily associations, social, material and otherwise, then that as is necessary for the next step is given. 633-5 . . . for, as in individual life, more and more must there be the necessity of business and business relations on every hand to have an ideal. The sooner the necessity is recognized in the minds, the hearts, the souls of individuals that carry on in the commercial or business world, the sooner will there come that regeneration which will make for the drawing together of those who may make the day of the Lord at hand; for in Him we live and move and have our being. Business must have an ideal, a soul. 257-88 | |
