To discover the continuity of life is a subtle art. The sage does not cling to the past or present, yet she finds a steady thread that weaves through life and connects each moment. If one is awake to the continuity of life, then it is a simple matter to endure calmly any challenge or concern. |

Fear and the uses of same in thine experience maketh thee afraid. Let the knowledge of the Lord constrain thee day by day. Fear not those things of the flesh, of the body, that would hinder in thine understanding, thine knowledge of thy God. Though ye be in the midst of tempestuous forces of the earth, if the knowledge, if the love of the Christ be thy guide, ye will be strong, ye will be steadfast, ye will be patient 262-98 For, to the entity, it would require patience in these directions, and—as the teacher of old has given—"In patience possess ye your souls." This does not mean in bearing with individuals that willfully disobey, but rather being strong and steadfast and humble in the sight of higher forces, yet active in that known to be not only duty in the spiritual sense but duty in the mental and material sense. For, duty and patience are akin; for he that grows weary in well-doing, or who falters and faints and gives up, is not worthy of those things that may be his lot. 517-1 . . . where the treasure is the heart is also. Unless that as is determined in self is wholly in keeping with those precepts, those principles that may make for a continuity of life, hope itself, little may be expected. For, as given, this—here—in this place—now—may become as a shining light to many, or may become the laughingstock of many. 254-54 (Q) Please explain what was meant by seeking universal source as contact for helping self and others. (A) Seeking the Spirit, or the continuity of life within self, which is the gift of the Creative Force in the experience of every entity! 267-1 Thus the using or applying of that as may be given will bring the better understanding, the better comprehension of the continuity of life and the application of the abilities in bringing into the experience of others that which will make for hopefulness in their experience. For as each entity gains the understanding, more and more is there the realization that the purposes for which each soul enters any given experience are to apply the opportunities that are a part of the experience in bringing into the consciousness of others the fact of the continuity of life, and to bring hope and cheer. 622-4 | |
